The Huffington post article didn't understand itself. Just the usual leftist BS/BDS that seems to say that through effective use of psychological denial we'll get through this terrorism crap just fine. Except of course, when we do get hit again it will be because that damn Bush wasn't paying enough attention; didn't warn American's enough; didn't take the threat seriously; told them to bring it on; actually caused it himself--you know the drill anonymous! I happen to think that a very good psychological defense is anticipation (look it up, I've written on it before) and keeping people vigilant and alert is an important part of the strategy. People like you and huffpuffer interpret that as fearmongering. They should know, I suppose, it's their projection (look it up). Dr. Sanity | Email | Homepage | 11.12.06 - 6:44 pm | #

You must be feeling pretty spunky. If I didn't know better, I'd say you gave Mr./Ms. Anonymous a stiff knee to the groin!

Listen to yourself--you're more worried about who will be to blame for the next terrorist attack, then you are about a possible terrorist attack itself.
Clinton did a far better job fighting terrorism than the pre-9/11 Bush did. The government should be able to do a better job fighting terrorism when they don't have to pitch it to the public every damned day. It would be nice if people like yourself would hope that the government, whether Democrat or Republican, can prevent another attack, rather than figuring out how you can make Democrats look bad before anything's happened (and before they're even in power!)
And please, stop the "psychological denial" nonsense. No one has forgotten 9/11, no one is suggesting we shouldn't be fighting terrorism. Your summary of the article is dishonest--it's not what the article says at all. anonymous | Email | Homepage | 11.12.06 - 11:14 pm | #

I wish we'd stop fighting each other and actually focus on fighting Al Qaeda and their ilk. But we're too busy ripping ourselves apart, unable to even agree on how to deal with that enemy. I am sickened and saddened. JonBuck | Email | Homepage | 11.13.06 - 1:03 am | #

"Listen to yourself--you're more worried about who will be to blame for the next terrorist attack, then you are about a possible terrorist attack itself.
Wrong, Dr. Sanity is concerned, not "worried" about what the Democrats themselves have voiced openly and often as to their response, or lack thereof, to the terrorist threat we face. -- and it is spelled, "than" not "then".
Clinton did a far better job fighting terrorism than the pre-9/11 Bush did.
Clinton had 8 years, Bush had 9 months.
Bombing an aspirin factory doesn't count.
Clinton Legacy on Terrorism:
The 1993 World Trade Center bombing that killed 6 and injured 1,000
The 1993 Mogadishu firefight that killed 18 U.S. soldiers
The 1995 Oklahoma City terrorist attack on the federal building by American extremists that killed 168, wounding several hundred others
The 1995 Saudi Arabia car bomb that killed 5 U.S. military personnel
The 1996 Khobal Towers bombing that killed 19 U.S. soldiers, wounding 515
The 1998 bombings of two U.S. embassies in Africa that killed 231 citizens, 12 Americans and injured 5,000
The 2000 USS Cole attack in Yemen that killed 17 U.S. sailors, wounding 39
The government should be able to do a better job fighting terrorism when they don't have to pitch it to the public every damned day.
They wouldn't have to if there wasn't the undercurrent of the DhimmicRATs -- every damned day.
It would be nice if people like yourself would hope that the government, whether Democrat or Republican, can prevent another attack, rather than figuring out how you can make Democrats look bad before anything's happened (and before they're even in power!)
It would be nice if the DhimmicRATs hadn't bad mouthed patriotism, national security, the armed forces, homeland security, legal wiretapping programs, the SWIFT program and every other attempt to protect us.
And "hope" does not create protection.
There are no people "figuring out" how to make Democrats look bad -- they are doing that themselves when their political leaders speak.
And please, stop the "psychological denial" nonsense. No one has forgotten 9/11, no one is suggesting we shouldn't be fighting terrorism. Your summary of the article is dishonest--it's not what the article says at all.
As is your summary of what Dr. Sanity writes about. The denial is not about whether or not some of you have "forgotten" 9/11, it is about your reaction concerning those who would seek to protect us from such ever happening again, President Bush first and foremost among them.

This election provide one absolute, CLinton hasn't a prayer in the world of ever being the first female president of the United States.
Either the Democrat Party will completely splinter from its incessant Bushhate or the Leftists in the Democrat Party will crucify Clinton for her Iraq war support.
Of course she could persuade her friends in Hollywood and the media to create 'feel good news' like her husband did then she make have the means to at least be able to run as a candidate. susan | Email | Homepage | 11.13.06 - 6:02 am | #

Im ready to go beyond the photo ID idea at the polls. Im thinking a quick 10 question multiple choice quiz that requires you get 6 right before your vote will be counted. Maybe....who is the countries secretary of state..who is the president of Iran...who is your congressman..You get the picture.
All these votes that went to the party of "what war, gimme my entitlements", that were cast by people who get their political perception from watching Entertainment Tonight and Oprah would be marginalised as the dangerous political illiterates that they are.
We just witnessed the dangerous part of a "democracy" (a word not found in the constitution).... Two wolves and a sheep deciding whats for dinner. SteveH | Email | Homepage | 11.13.06 - 6:35 am | #

I find it pretty ironic that leftist want to paint the right as fear mongering. What the hell was all that "Bush lied, Rove is a criminal, Theocracy is coming, Rumsfeld is Satan, Cheney just wants oil profits, we cant possibly beat terrorism, Your phone calls to your grandmother are being tapped, your job is moving to China next week, Global Warming will put Florida under water, your votes arent being counted BULL SH*T?
This game of accusing your opposition of what your own behavior is, is beginning to border on the sublime. SteveH | Email | Homepage | 11.13.06 - 7:00 am | #

I would love for the Leftist Bushhaters to continue on with their angry rampage as it would ensure a Democrat Party splinter whereby purging the progressive Left from American politics forever.
I'm willing to endure two more years of Bushhate for the benefit of splintering the Democrat Party and ruining Hillary's chance to be first female President for good. susan | Email | Homepage | 11.13.06 - 8:10 am | #

I agree wholeheartedly. Just a simple series of questions: Who is the President, who is the Vice President, who is the Governor of your state, who is your representative, etc.
If you can't get 6 out of 10, then you don't get to vote. I am sick and tired of clueless drooling morons cancelling out my vote, and in a sane and rational world, it wouldn't happen. rickl | Email | Homepage | 11.13.06 - 11:06 pm | #
