A word to my wise friends who have their life savings invested in dollar denominated instruments: Our currency is under threat and is about to decline much further, even if Israel doesn't attack Iran; and the best experts say there's a 50/50 chance Israel will act.

The Straits of Hormuz - in the Persian Gulf next to Iran - carries a huge percentage of the world's oil, and Iran has said often that they will block the straits if they are attacked. The price of oil will then skyrocket, causing many other markets to collapse.

Also, there are many trillions of dollars of American bad debt - called "toxic waste" by Geitner, Bernanke, Paulson, et al - that is going to come due sooner rather than later. Our dollar will be worth very little, if anything.
