If you listen to the MSM, it is not possible for a person of color to be racist. If a black person votes for a candidate because they are black, why is it wrong for a white person to vote for a white person because they are white? Romey | Email | Homepage | 05.07.08 - 1:12 pm | #

According to the dictionary of the left:
1. A raciest is a white person. Since a black person isn't white, he can't be a raciest.
2. An oppressed person is one who has produced nothing of value in his entire life.
3. An oppressor is a person who produces things of value and refuses to give it to an oppressed person except at point of gun.
4. Good intentions is taking from those who produce wealth, giving it to those who do not, and taking only a portion for your own expenses.
4. A sexist is a white male.
5. A homophobe is anyone who is sexually attracted to the opposite gender.
6. Reality is what they say it is. Evidence to the contrary need not be considered.
If you don't agree with these leftist definitions, then you are a bigoted, racist, selfish, sexist, homophobe no matter who you are. A. Rational Human | Email | Homepage | 05.07.08 - 1:47 pm | #

I sometimes wonder whether there are people who enjoy slavery. They trade the plantation of old for the Liberal Plantation.
As can be attested to comments from liberals and leftists who frequent this site, one is a bigot, sexist, homophobe, et al if one is winning and argument with either of them. When a liberal lacks the ability to present their case in a reasoned manner then they turn to the first rule of the left; name calling. That would not be so bad if it did not turn out to be 90% or more of their argumentation. Dennis | Email | Homepage | 05.07.08 - 5:02 pm | #

Off the subject, perhaps, but Iknow you guys miss me....
My wish for you, along with love and good life and happiness and all that shit, is perhaps in a parallel universe that you reside on a farm in Avonlea, on Prince Edward Island, and decide to adopt a boy from an orphan asylum in Nova Scotia as a helper on your bustling eggplant farm. Through a series of goofy mishaps and silly brain capers, what ends up under your roof instead is a precocious girl of eleven named Anne Shirley. Anne is bright and quick, eager to please but dissatisfied with her name, her pale countenance dotted with freckles, her pits, and with her long braids of red hair. Being a child of imagination, however, Anne takes much joy in life, and adapts quickly, thriving in the environment of Prince Edward Island and eggplants in general. She excels in studies very quickly, her budding literary ambitions and her friendships with people such as Diana Borry (her best friend), Jane Undrews, Ruby Gillpiss, and her rivalry with Gilbert “Blue” Blythe, who teases her about her pits and red hair and for that acquires her hatred, although he apologizes many times, it worries you so much that you come down with a bad case of the shits. They compete in class and Anne one day realizes she no longer hates Gilbert, but will not admit it, although both you and me do in a pinch. Her rivalries with the Pie sisters (Gertie and Josie) and her domestic mistakes such as dyeing her hair green, causes another stubborn bout of the green apple two-step. Anne, along with Gilbert, Ruby, Josie, Jane and a couple of local moose people, eventually goes to the Queen's Academy and obtains a masseuse license in one year, in addition to winning the Avery Prize in English Literature and Sex Toys, which allows her to pursue a B.A. at Redmond College of the Terminally Weird. Anne shows her devotion to the Pie sisters by giving up the Avery Prize, deciding to live in a bucket and help the local moose people, whose eyesight are diminishing, and teaching at the Carmody School for the Incontinent, the nearest school available within the short confines of the bucket. To show his friendship and sizeable schlong, Gilbert Blythe gives up his teaching position in the Avonlea School for Bugs to work at White Sands Snack Bar as a janitor instead, thus enabling Anne to spray for bugs at the Avonlea School and pay the small pittance of a lease on her bucket, now parked in the Ralph’s at Green Gables all through the week. After this kind act, Anne fully forgives Gilbert for being the perv he is and they become good “friends”.

"always right" wrote: "That tell[s] me people don't care, they only want CHANGE."
Yeah, for the most part, the "Change" they seem to be talking about is a change in the race of the person in the oval office. It's practically a codeword for "reverse descrimination". It's a "Let's all feel good about letting a black guy have a turn" sentiment.
But keep in mind, this is among DEMOCRATS, where victimhood is king. What the election will be about is how much the independent voters buy into that crap, and whether the losing side's supporters (among the Dems) get too pissed off to show in droves. On this latter point, let's gleefully observe that the behavior of the supporters on either side isn't exactly what you would call "mature".
The funny thing is, the "black guy" isn't really even black - he's more properly classified as "biracial". He's as much white as he is black, and calling him black is actually kind of racist.
I'll close with this question: If the black vote throughout the country hadn't been almost exclusively for Obama, would he still be beating Hillary? Optimizer | Email | Homepage | 05.08.08 - 12:29 pm | #

Percentage figures by themselves are not statistics.
To put things in perspective:
Acording to -- http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0...a/
A0762156.html -- 91% of less than 13% of the overall population is black.

I think the Democratic party's Racial Con of making the GOP out to be the racists is THE greatest Con Job of the 20th Century
The Dems have had two major schisms in the last 60 years over race -- in the 1948 (the Dixiecrats) and the 1964 Dem conventions (the latter in which legally elected black representatives from the South were disenfranchized at the convention by machinations of Humphrey and Johnson -- which led directly to the subsequent violence in the later 60s, including the 1968 convention. Details here).
The Dems also continue to promote victimhood and class warfare memes and policies which are divisive and have led to nothing good for American blacks -- the fruits of their attitudes are clear: ignorance, illiteracy, and futility, leading to a ridiculously large number of black males being incarcerated (correctly, mind you), massive levels of black illegitimacy (presence of a balancing fatherhood figure is a strong indicator of later success in life), and, through the prisons, widespread AIDS in the black populace.
"Things have changed since the 60s -- the Dems aren't like that NOWWWWWWWWWW!!"
When a black man or woman succeeds without their help, the Dems feel nothing whatsoever about denigrating them and their accomplishments by using offensively pejorative memes and terms -- terms like "stepinfetchit", "Uncle Tom", and "pickaninny". When these terms were used to refer to Colin Powell and Condi Rice, the Dems had nothing to say to the people making these slurs -- members of their own liberal collective.
In contrast, I suggest you consider the following:
We pledge that our American citizens of Negro descent shall be given a square deal in the economic and political life of this nation. Discrimination in the civil service, the army, navy, and all other branches of the Government must cease. To enjoy the full benefits of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness universal suffrage must be made effective for the Negro citizen. Mob violence shocks the conscience of the nation and legislation to curb this evil should be enacted.
-- from the 1940 GOP platform
Specifically, compare it to this:
We stand for the segregation of the races and the racial integrity of each race; the constitutional right to choose one's associates; to accept private employment without governmental interference, and to learn one's living in any lawful way. We oppose the elimination of segregation, the repeal of miscegenation statutes, the control of private employment by Federal bureaucrats called for by the misnamed civil rights program. We favor home-rule, local self-government and a minimum interference with individual rights.
We oppose and condemn the action of the Democratic Convention in sponsoring a civil rights program calling for the elimination of segregation, social equality by Federal fiat, regulations of private employment practices, voting, and local law enforcement.
-- from the 1948 Dixiecrat's Platform
==================================================
Now, tell me again, please, which party has an open as well as disguised history of racism and segregation?

The Democrats have pulled off a tremendous con. It seems they have bought the black vote on the cheap....a mere promise of a bit of additional social vitimization spending and they sold out their futures wholesale.
What a shame...and we all know there is no such thing as a free lunch.
