I've been convinced of the Democrats' lack of fundamental common sense for decades. At this point, it's all about THEM - not about the country. They'll go with what they think makes THEM look good, and they'll avoid making anything resembling a solid decision on foriegn policy because of fear of blowback.

Sucks to be them. Sucks even more to be US with them in control.

Let me see...in law school here in the United States one is taught how to argue every facet of problem without any morality of any kind being present, then one is taught to learn two very important rules: 1) Admit nothing, and 2) Deny everything.

After receiving that lustrous diploma, now advanced to the level of "doctor of jurispurdence" (where did that word "prudence" come from?), our freshly minted lawyer gets to choose a life path.

I note that most of those running for the office of President are "lawyers" and even their spouses are too.

Empty "know it alls" who never read Plato's thoughts on lawyers.

We'ev allowed real assholes to step up to the plate way too often and now we are paying the price for our follies.

They're not stupid. But for forty years now they've been telling themselves (and everyone else) that America is corrupt, imperialistic, racist, oppressive, and cruel. They believe this now, sincerely and wholeheartedly. So when America is attacked, that's "justice." That's "chickens coming home to roost." As far as Democrats are concerned, America _deserves_ any attacks she suffers. Why on earth would they want to interfere?

Clearly, we are not going to be able to reach the current crop of "leading" Democrats by any application of reason, reality, or logic. Our task then, is to reach the remainder of the population who's brains are not totally turned off before its too late.

As near as I can tell, similar to the notorious doomsday clock of the last century, its now 11:59:45 PM. Its not too late but its pretty damn close. Soon, all we are going to be left with is the "duck and cover" strategy of the 1950's followed by a rigorous application of the Second Amendment. The aftermath of such a thing will be beyond grim.

Folks, you need to read "Shadow Warriors" by Kenneth Timmerman. Democrats have given infiltration a whole new dimension. They intend to take over by destroying _any_ Republican who hasn't the insider knowedge to counter the methods of the D.C. insiders.

I don't like McCain, but he may be the man to deal with the problem. I don't think Bush was able to, and I don't think Romney could. Reason being that they think they're supposed to _govern_ not counter subversive attacks from within their own government.

I'm not quite finished with the book - it's tough reading with a lot of "alphabet soup" and references to so many foreign - and domestic - groups that it's difficult to keep them straight. I may have to read it again just to get the basics straight, but it _definitely_ is a book _every_ American should read. If you can read it all the way through without getting furiously angry with what the Dems are doing to this country, you're not a red-blooded American. IMO.

Don't be surprised if you can't find it at Barnes and Noble.

At least to the victims and the families of the victims.

I would suspect the public fury at Democrats in a post apocalyptic America (should the next terror strike include WMD) would be overwhelming, especially in part of the country not under the sway of the NY Times and Washington Post.

I wouldn't take long odds at the political survival of the Democratic Party in that case.

Reform the government? If we expect that to happen, we are as deluded as the Democrats. Especially if we expect to do it through any of our current political parties.

Have a replay of the American Revolution? Unfortunately, that would make our Civil War look like a dance in the park. Also, few violent revolutions have ended with the people more free than before.

Make the government irrelevant? Doing it is a challenge equivalent to making an elephant in your living room irrelevant.

Accept the situation and get on with your life? That's like accepting a herd of elephants in your livingroom.

Unfortunately, like our choice of presidential candidates, all the good choices have left the building.

I think we are left with a lot of years of hard frustrating work changing the fundamental ideas by which people make choices. That's how the demented left did it. We simply have to be better at selling better ideas. Ultimately, that's the only way that works.

Ideas matter. Fundamental ideas matter most.

But we've already had 9/11. We've already had the Cole attack. We've already had the first WTC bomb plot. Each time it's been worse, and each time the liberals have shrugged it off or blamed it on conservatives. Their allies in the media make sure that blame falls anywhere but on those responsible.

I'm afraid that future attacks will ony support the defeatist, suicidal liberal movement. More Americans will come to believe (after they've been indoctrinated by the media) that victory is impossible, we had it coming anyway, and the only proper response is to lie down and take it.

Like I said on another site, if the worst ever came true (a nuke detonated here), will any President order an all-out destruction to any rogue regime? No, I think US (and the West) had already lost our gumption. I think POTUS (on behalf of 1/2 of the country) will tell us to calm down, let them do the 'detective work', and 'bring those responsible' to justice (i.e., capture them and try them in court).

Don't under estimate the creativity of our homegrown delusionals or the muslims that hate us. Any major attack on an American city will not come from an easily identifiable source.

Which means years of talking heads on CNN pointing out failed diplomacy..blah blah blah. While stories of FEMA trailers not getting to the victims will be front page news.
