They want so desperately to show "moral courage," but not have to actually suffer for it. They want to be as brave as Martin Luther King, but they don't want to actually face firehoses and psycho Klukkers with rifles. They want civil disobedience without breaking a nail.

How do you become a Brave AmeriKKKan Dissident when the closest thing you have otherwise believe we faked the Moon landing, and are conspiring with alien governments to suppress their Urine Into Gasoline device?

You inflate every little fault into the most heinous oppression, violate the law in order to get arrested and declare yourself a political prisoner, and declare your government to be a dictatorship because.....because....you SAID so!

Just don't be too surprised when they get lumped in with Urine Boy in the tinfoil-hat department.

Just as they bravely and courageously drop the crucifix in urine and cover Mary with elephant dung and pornography while worrying over the inevitability of the fundamenatalist right establishing a theocracy in the US. Yet they cannot print the Danish cartoons about Mohammed,because they "usually refrain from gratuitous assaults on religious symbols, especially since the cartoons are so easy to describe in words"(NYTimes Arts Magazine, Feb.8, 2006). They have neither moral nor physical courage. Note how when they take power (Bolsheviks, Mao, Castro, etc.) the preferred method of dispatching both their enemies and friends is a bullet in the back of the neck or head.

Coming out of lurkdom to say that the number is OVER Stated. It seems impossible. Iran would have to own missle launcher for each missile. The number of their launchers is only a fraction of the total missle count.

Some rather telling observations from the BBC in its analysis of why Iran thinks that it is safe from US confrontation:

An anti-war protest in Washington at the weekend was given major coverage in the Iranian press - all evidence for Tehran that US public opinion simply will not allow an attack on Iran.

And the way the BBC carries the water for Iran in the conclusion of the article:

But all the while, Washington's list of grievances against Tehran grows. Iran is blamed (or made a scapegoat) for violence in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The idea that, given enough time, Washington will somehow forget about Iran is wishful thinking in the extreme.

The worrying thing is not just that Washington and Tehran disagree. More fundamentally, they completely misunderstand each others' intentions. And that is how wars start.
