I've been looking over the pictures of Australian protesteers. Half look like retarded children and half look like child molesters. There may be an unexplored dynamic at work here.

I don't know you Jas, I only have been reading this blog for a few weeks now, but have noticed a pattern that I find curious with your posts and that is that no matter what the subject, you always fall on the opposite side. It seems disingenuous since no one can be wrong all the time, no matter how dumb they may be, even idiots can get something right now and then.
All that is based on a few weeks, so perhaps my observation is based on too little information, anyhow, I think this blog has a lot of informative discussion and intelligent debate for the most part. Your point is often true, Dennis, but I wouldn't just summarily ban trolls, either, for example.
Moreover, these trolls are all over the MSM, grotesquely present in CSPAN's call-in programs, very prevalent in Universities, are "acivists" and operators in agenda groups - some probably even acting here as Limbaugh's "seminar callers" do, and are probably employed in a lot of [otherwise useless] bureaucratic positions which affect us.
I personally know people who sound exactly like trolls if you corner them or they make an unguarded statement revealing their more basic "self", as it were.
So from my perspective, one reason for suffering trolls and responding to them is to study trolls, their "reasoning", m.o., and possible motives for being trolls.
They often provide additional excellent examples of what Dr.S. talks about. It's often good to have the subject matter right in front of you.
Additionally, the links and responses to trolls by others often make me more informed.
In a way, trolls within our society are the problem, and they won't simply go away. We have to deal with them. And imo, it seems to be a necessary "test" for us as individuals, regardless.
But, agreed, there is a point where you have to ignore them, or certain ones, for the most part, because they become overly space-occupying and diverting. Maybe that's part of the test.
