The left are at war with reality. They cannot win that war. However, we can allow them to win small battles at our expense by being silent. We must offend the left until their heads explode.
Fortunately, offending the left is easy. All we have to do is say and demonstrate the simple truth as loudly and as clearly as we possibly can. See the aftermath of Palin's speech the other night, for a clear example.
Do not go silently into that long dark night. Live free or die very hard. Take no prisoners for they do not deserve to survive. Especially not at our expense.
If you think they mean well but are simply innocently mistaken and they therefore deserve mercy, check your premises. They mean to enslave you, suck you dry, and then to discard you without giving it a second or even a first thought. A. Rational Human | Email | Homepage | 09.05.08 - 12:59 pm | #

Consider this: if you are a Democrat who slavishly follows the party line, you can get away with saying or doing anything BECAUSE you are a "true" Democrat. If you are a Republican, and do or not do anything, no matter how virtuous or vile, you are at fault and guilty of high crimes, misdemeanors, and treason to the only just cause: "true" Democrats in Power.
This is why I have been deeply disgusted with the Republican drive to get the Democrats to love them. They had abandoned all claim of being Republicans or of even being innocently wrong. They became better Democrats than the Democrats themselves.
Palin reclaimed the high ground and McCain tentatively approached it. He still pushes the base and foul notion that service to others is a duty for a free person or nation. I find this deeply offensive. I am offended by it as much as I am offended by the left because it accepts the unifying principle of the lift - the good is good for other - the good for self is bad especially and only if you deserve it and have earned it.
The ONLY obligation that one free person has for another is to not violate the other's individual rights. There is no other obligation of one to another except that which is voluntarily accepted by mutual agreement and benefit.
However, if this new found path to the high ground can be sustained and reinforced, the Republicans will deserve that honorable name once again. In that case, they will have earned my vote. A. Rational Human | Email | Homepage | 09.05.08 - 1:27 pm | #

They didn't show how 3,000 Americans were killed - they showed the moment of their deaths, and then used that image - which occurred while their party was in power, shortly after their having ignored the memo entitled "Osama Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside United States", as a reason to support their party. Is there nothing too crude or unconscionable that the GOP will not stoop that low? Kevin T. Keith | Email | Homepage | 09.05.08 - 3:12 pm | #

Crossed the line?
That requires standards.
Absolute standards.
They are trying to shove their religion down our throats.

Nice selective/revisionist history there libtard Kevin!
Of course, we all know that Bubba and his crew did ALL that was possible to prevent these attacks, too, right? What a fool you are..... Dave D | Email | Homepage | 09.05.08 - 4:22 pm | #

Fear mongering is the lefts stock in trade. They are constantly stocking peoples "fears" by saying:
They're gonna keep you from getting health care...
They're gonna take away you're social security...
They're gonna ignore global warming, and hasten the ruination of the planet...
They're gonna ruin our reputaion overseas...
They're gonna allow the economy to crumble simply so that a few "eeeeevil" capitalists can line their pockets...
They're gonna take away the "social saftey net"...
They're gonna exploit the patriot act to spy on "ordinary Americans"...
They're gonna start another useless war...
They're gonna go back to institutional racism and sexism...
blah, blah, blah, frickin' blah...
They can never spout of these Sorelian necessary lies; because they don't have any positive ideas. Bob | Email | Homepage | 09.05.08 - 4:35 pm | #

Whenever you watch a lion cart off the captured wildebeest one will see other wildebeests reacting: some will just stand and seem to stare, some will run in the opposite direction, while a few want and will at times run toward the lion who is carting away dinner.
Such is the case with 911. Even today.
I would have run toward the twin towers, to help.
That's just the kind of person I seem to be, have been in some life experiences, and hope to continue to be.

Kevin,
Just what exactly was the Bush administration supposed to have done in eight months that the Clinton administration eith couldn't or wouldn't do in eight years?
By the way, speaking of the Clinton administration, why did he turn down Osama Bin Laden when he was offered to the US on a silver platter several times? Why didn't he go after Osama Bin Laden when he had the chance to do so?

My favorite dem projection this week was "Palin is tied to banning books".
I only know of one book and its ideas in the line of fire of being banned from schools and the public square. And it aint by folks on the right. SteveH | Email | Homepage | 09.05.08 - 6:21 pm | #

We must also mock, ridicule and belittle them. They can't handle that.
Do you have a weblog/site? If not, why not?
Keith, you blithering, LLL idiot:
They didn't show how 3,000 Americans were killed - they showed the moment of their deaths, and then used that image.
Is there a difference? Apparently, in your shallow mind, there is. The videos show precisely how they were killed at the very moment of their death.
We should use that image over and over again to drive home the fact that you and your ilk in the Appeasement/Marxist Party will do nothing to stop it from happening again. On Bush's watch? Oh, puhleeeeze! What about the first attempt on the towers in 1993? The the embassy bombings? the USS Cole? Who's watch did those things happen on? Was it Bush or Clintoon who was offered bin Laden's on a silver tray by Sudan?

Gang of One,
I currently don't have a web site. I had one for over a decade. It was called the Windy Hills Reading Room. Much of the material is over a decade old. I have never had a blog.
A blog requires daily service, content update, and effort to get it spread about. I am in the process of putting the finishing touches on a complex new technology to be able to bring it to the market. That activity consumes most of my creative juices and a large fraction of my time.
For now, I prefer to leave my comments on a various blogs dealing with a wide variety of topics as my interest is stimulated. I use either my ARH pseudonym for political commentary or my real name for technology topics.
I generally do offend the left by merely existing and saying just about anything. I am the kind of person who is not supposed to be able to exist in this world. I am a pit bull who doesn't wear lipstick. I am aggressively self defined and derive everything I can from direct observation and first principles. I make things that work, work well, and work reliably. I don't ask permission to do it.
Sadly, I have yet to achieve even one lefty head explosion but I have the audacity of hope that it will happen soon. A. Rational Human | Email | Homepage | 09.05.08 - 8:20 pm | #

Every time I see pictures or anything having to do with 9-11-2001, I am reminded that this is exactly what America's enemies wish to do to her every day.
I grew up among children whose first memories were escaping the fall of Saigon, or whose parents fled the Cultural Revolution. I remember my grandmother, so into geneology, who first told me that a lot of my ancestry was from Northern Ireland---a place, in that time, where bombs went off every day. Thousands upon thousands of 9-11s every day, in places like Ho Chi Minh City, Belfast, Tehran, Belgrade, Kashmir, and Beijing. I knew Communists were bad because many of my classmates in elementary school escaped them by the skin of their teeth.
Dammit, people came to this country to escape that crap, and it came to follow us all on 9-11. People who wallow in the sh!t of eternal grievance and hatred long every day to drag us all back into their toilet.
We Americans either came here or watched our neighbors come here for that shining city on a hill where their childrens' biggest adolescent worry would be getting a good SAT score, and their own biggest worry would be about that neighbor not cutting their grass. 9-11 reminds us there are those who would happily tear that shining city down.
When we forget this, we forget why we fight. R S | Email | Homepage | 09.06.08 - 1:19 am | #

Inconsistency of principle is the same as having no principles.
The Democrats are so wildly inconsistent about what is and what is not "acceptable" in political persuasion that it's no longer required of a decent man to listen to them. They worship power and will do anything to amass more of it. Accordingly, when they castigate a conservative outreach tactic, it's not because it offends their morals; it's because it works too well for them to counter it any other way.
When it becomes obvious that your pole star is power at any cost, decent persons will avert their eyes from you, stop their ears when you speak, cross the street to avoid you. This is starting to happen to the Democrats...and just in the nick of time. Francis W. Porretto | Email | Homepage | 09.06.08 - 5:06 am | #
