I hear you on the traffic problems. Where I live, we have Rt. 76 as the main highway that I take to get in and out of Philly. It's two lanes in each direction, which was inadequate when it was first constructed back in the 70's.
Not that I have to go into Philly daily or anything, but you certainly plan your trips for off-peak times.

I wouldn't mind the law changing. In my former home state, I used to lane split all the time. It was a matter of not wanting to be the last one--a vulnerable scooter--in line at a red light. When I moved to GA, I checked into whether there was any plant o allow lane splitting. Last I read, there was a bill making its rounds though the GA legislature to make lane splitting legal. However, I lost track of the bill. If you could find out what became of it...
