i'm glad you like this band. it pleases me greatly to have turned someone on to them. i've shared them with a few people since i got sing the greys about a year ago.
frightened rabbit are so good. and this album is just so awesome. i mean, i know it's a bit vulgar lyrically, and i guess it's a breakup record, which sounds cheesy, but really, it captures something about love or loneliness or longing for companionship so perfectly that it makes my heart hurt a little bit. and the hooks are great. and the scottish accent, well, yeah. that's awesome too.
old old fashioned is one of my faves on the album also, along "the twist" and "good arms vs. bad". along with everything else. yeah. this thing is fantastic. a gem. five stars indeed.
so far this is my favorite album of the year along with the cut copy record.
Out of the 3 songs I downloaded, I liked all of them, but loved Modern Leper. It quickly became one of my most-played songs. Perhaps it is because they say 'izahtly the same'. That's just the kind of bizarre Scottish accent that I laugh at my mom about.
However, now that I have acquired the rest of the album, Modern Leper looks like it will lose that standing. The problem now is that I'm not sure which song I DO like the most, (it's all good) but that's a nice problem to have. Fantastic album, thanks for introducing it to me.
By the way, they are originally from Selkirk, which is less than 20 miles from where my mom is from (Kelso).
