My favorite (possibly apocrophyl) Lenon quote, when asked by a reporter if Ringo Starr was the best drummer in the world:
"Ringo the best drummer in the world? He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles!"
I think Macca played drums on some other stuff, as well -- I think on the White Album when Ringo had sort of quit for a bit. And check out his drumming on the demo for "Come and Get It" -- for a demo track, it's got a great big Beatley drum sound.
