Gravatar With regard to Pelosi's comments, let's see:

We were attacked in 1941 so that is why we joined the action in WWII, although Hitler never did anything to us directly, we could have just focused on Japan and not do the lend lease "thingy" (as my daughter would say). We CHOSE to do that part.

The Civil war is self explanatory.

We were attacked to start the War of 1812 and the Spanish American War (although that one may have been contrived by the media - boy have things changed).

SO for the rest:

We CHOSE to start the Revolution - The Canadians lived fine without any problems with the Crown so why couldn't the rest of the colonies.

We CHOSE to fight against Mexico on behalf of the Republic of Texas, we could have minded our own business in the east.

We CHOSE to join the action in WWI to have some say in the reformation of Europe (and if they listened to Wilson maybe we could have affected (not necessarily prevented) WWII.

We CHOSE to help South Korea
We CHOSE to help South Vietnam
We CHOSE to help Kuwait
We CHOSE to help Bosnia-Herzegovinia and Croatia
We CHOSE to help Rwanda

OK Nancy...what's your point??!?

Gravatar We also CHOSE to do NOTHING when:

-our embassies in Africa were attacked
-the USS Cole was attacked
-The World Trade Center was attacked (the first time)
-the Kobar Towers were attacked
-the Marine barracks in Beiruit were attacked
- when the warloards of Somalia decided to turn against us when Clinton tried to disarm us.

I hate that retreating from the Marine Barracks is part of this list but I really think that our retreat from Lebanon and the spectacle in Somalia along with all the non response from the Clinton administration did more to embolden the terrorists than anything else.

Gravatar OOPS I meant ...when Clinton tried to disarm the Somali warloards

Or is that a Freudian slip?

Gravatar Ruthlessly accurate summary of the facts, Veritas!

Gravatar Totally unrelated for my cyber family:

Go to < http://gulf-coast-hurricanes.blo...s.blogspot.com/ >

I've finally entered the blogophere. Come visit the "Gulf Coast Hurricane Tracker".

I'm still having trouble getting updates and new posts to publish when they claim they are but my aim is to have a comprehensive tropical storm site by the time the first one hits (which may be next week).

Gravatar Excellent D.O...can u believe Hollyweird and how far they are pushin the socialist envelope!!..

Gravatar Thanks, Angel. You've got a good post too on this!

The Hollywood Libs suffer from:
a) atheism and/or New Age nuttiness;
b) guilt over their undeserved wealth and fame;
c) insecurity based on their lack of education;
or,
d) all of the above?

Gravatar D.O. The dunk Zarqawi game is great! I was surprised at how hard I was laughing as he went in the drink.

Gravatar I loved putting his picture in there. It's hilarious. Did you see you can throw tomatoes at his head too?

I've been surprised at how few (2, including you) visitors have played it!

Gravatar Yeah, Veritas... fighting is always a choice. So is turning tail and running. It's strange that some folks can't see that. What you do with that choice is a matter of courage. It seems Pelosi needs a refresher of her Nicomachean Ethics.

On a separate issue, one of my good friends is a Mormon and one of the finest Christian men I have ever met. I don't have much time for doctrinal issues. I just know that ethically, he is often my beacon and example. However, he doesn't watch R-rated movies because the Church tells him not to. I argued that this is stupid because he's actually putting too much power in the hands of the MPAA. If the Mormon Church had it's own guys rating movies and what not- that's one thing. But if you're going to trust the MPAA to rate movies for you- especially when they may share very different values... what kind of sense does that make?

I hope you are all well. I am still celebrating Zarqawi's demise.

Aloha,
Kahuna6

Gravatar Welcome to my blogroll hun!..lolz

Gravatar Thanks Kahuna,

It is good to hear from you. I read a bit of your blog a while back. I hope all is well and that you are doing fine.

I agree with you on the MPAA ratings. I look at the content and what is shown when deciding if my kids can watch. There are some 'R'rated movies that don't have nudity or excessive language that I let them see and some PG and PG-13 that I don't want my 15 year olds looking at.

I know that there is a Catholic group that rates movies based on family, adult with reservations or morally objectional. I forget the name of the group - do you know, Ox?. If I had a solid rating system that I adhered to based on values, it would be the church's ratings not the MPAA.

Gravatar The link for the Bishops Conference is in our sidebar, Veritas, under the News and Info Links.

BUT, the guy or gal they have doing those reviews are far from reliable or orthodox... but at least you'll get an honest synopsis.

That's how bad things are!

Gravatar D.O This pellosi what a b*&^h, Between her and Murtha the terrorists have effectively placed a foothold in our government. Treason is still punishable by death isn't it?

Gravatar Treason would require proof of tangible aid to the enemy: it's an old-fashioned crime that doesn't take into account mass communication and intangible aid.

Laws against SEDITION do cover all sorts of acts that give encouragement to the enemy or discouragement to our side. WE NEED SEDITION LAWS NOW! (Or rather, after the November elections if Republicans can retain their majorities.)
