I was disappoint w/Thompson's decision to drop out of the race. I really don't like the other Republican candidates...

I am still voting for Thompson in my primary though. Even of it means I have to write in his name.

I don't want to vote for McCain, I thought Fred will be the right choice. But unfortunately he withdrawn himself from the competition...

I had this same thought. When Colin Powell decided not to run, Clinton knew he won the election. Dole was a nice guy but I really don't think he stood a chance. If McCain wins the nomination it will be just another stogey old white guy going up again what will likely be Hillary/Obama ticket in some fashion. I don't think McCain will win. The Republican base will stay home on principle and the Dems will sweep into office.
Since Fred dropped out it looks to me like Romney is the best choice. I've been disappointed with Giuliani although things could change quickly in a week or two.

The Republican field is getting uglier and uglier. I don't trust Romney, Huckabee, or Giuliani on just about ANYTHING they say. Although I suppose Giuliani would prosecute the war on terror with gusto. McCain I can trust--just that he has the wrong policies! I think Ann was a little harsh for comic effect on the lying angle... after all McCain says all those things (amnesty, treating terrorists with kid gloves, stomping on 1st amendment rights, etc.) out in the open, heck has passed legislation with his bud Kennedy. What a mess!!!
I'm leaning towards voting for Ron Paul in the primary just to register my disgust with the GOP.
At this point, I think having Obama in the White House would be the lesser of evils---IF and it's a big IF the Congress isn't also in Dem hands... There's the rub!!!
Thanks for popping by and sharing your thoughts, guys.

OK here's a shocker. If it came down to a Republican that I couldn't support, I think I would have to cast a vote for Hillary. AUGGGHHHH
Of all the Dems, she is the only one who I believe would actually make semi intelligent decisions. With all the rhetoric, I know she won't just pull out of the war. Her voting record has supported Bush in Iraq and Afghanistan even if her speeches say otherwise. She'll just spin it to to show how she's doing things better. The day after inauguration we would be winning and have to see our victory to the end. The domestic agenda is a real issue but we made it through Bill for 8 years - 6 years as POTUS and 2 as Defendant/laughing stock.
I can see Obama as a VP but his inexperience will likely get us in BIG trouble as Pres. Reach out to Iran - Bomb Pakistan - I don't think so. Clinton has a lot more government exposure so that gives her a bit of an edge.
I really wanted to see more from Fred. He was exactly what we need until he actually started campaigning and then never seemed to get moving.
I think I can support Romney. I like his approach and his politics. Huckabee concerns me. And even though I voted to reelect Paul to Congress, now that I am actually listening to him, he scares me. I don't even want to see him keep his congressional seat.
