An exhibit called "Political Peanuts" will run from July 16 to Dec. 1 at the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, Calif.

Schulz (1922-2000) wasn't overtly political in "Peanuts," but did offer more subtle political commentary from time to time. The 25 strips in the show illustrate this.

Visitors to the exhibit can also vote in an "election" between Charlie Brown (whose platform is "No homework on weekends!"), Lucy ("Full rights for women!"), and Snoopy ("Pizza on every table!").

Gravatar Conservative Icon Tom McClintock, by the way, appears to be preparing for a loss this fall. Or if he does get the job as Congressman, it doesn't look like he wants to keep it long:

In California's wonderful world of term limits, the future is now for any officeholder looking at the imminent -- or not so imminent --end to a political career. And in the state's version of musical chairs, those politicians already are figuring where to jump when the music stops.

Republican state Sen. Tom McClintock, for example, has taken the Boy Scout motto "Be Prepared" to heart by opening 2010 campaign committees for both lieutenant governor and the state Board of Equalization, even while he's running for a North State congressional seat in November.

This should go over really well with the good citizens of CA-04. Proof he is nothing more than a proponent of survival on political welfare. Doesn't matter WHERE his free ride comes from as long as it comes

Gravatar For those of you curious about what kind of "coattails" the current administration offers to regional Republican candidates, here is a site that tracks Bush's approval rating (using the formula: (approve + approve strongly) - (disapprove + disapprove strongly):

http://www.pollingreport.com/BushJob.htm

And here is similar info as a graph:

This may explain why McClintock is keeping his options open.

Gravatar I suspect that the fourth district is just plain cursed. He's just running and Charlie's already in bed with viagra spammers.
