That last paragraph was what I was confused about. I'm not sure how he thinks aboriton can be cured by money. Do we pay the women who were going to terminate their pregnancy to keep it instead?

His letter was lacking in many aspects, and I have a feeling he had his feelings hurt by the Church and is trying to get even.

Your letter was a well stated rebuttal to the editor's letter. Apparently the editor thinks that communion can only be denied to "high profile" Catholics and not to any one who the priest feels is not in communion with the Church.
