My husband and kids are begging to go see both as well. We likely will. I have a little sense of adventure once in a while We'll be attending the National Basilica of the Immaculate Conception's Memorial Day Mass on Sunday afternoon (it airs on EWTN on Memorial Day). We went last year and it was beautiful. It's going to be one of those rare full weekends. Enjoy yours, Father.

Do check down in the crypt and let us know if the Papal chair is still there. And if you see the rose the Holy Father gave to the Basilic do snap a picture

I will absolutely do that (take pictures). The kneeler PJII used is behind the grate/iron fence in the Our Lady of Lourdes chapel, just outside the cyrpt church. Did you see it?

I'm lucky in that I live on a military installation close by.

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Although my arthritis is not nearly as severe as yours, I, too can feel the change in weather in my knees and hands. It stinks that as you grow older, your body gets weaker.

Hmmm... I don't remember seeing the kneeler, Sarah. Perhaps I didn't fully explore the crypt church.

Tonight, Ellen, I actually feel quite a back to normal, energy wise, this evening. This is the first night in six that I haven't been exhausted by 8:30 (and it's now 9:15).
