Eagle1, in August there has been two incidents of middle eastern men acting suspiciously near Naval installations. Charleston Naval Weapons station in Goose Creek, SC and on the Washington State Ferry System that operates ferry routes by numerous Navy facilities in Puget Sound. Both areas have naval reactors in operation; this should raise red flags at both the FBI and the Navy.

looking at the picture i believe that that particular pipe bomb is a bit on the aged side. particularly the white residue at the thread where the bottom end cap is attached. i also believe that the sectioned wrap around the center of the bomb is on the old side also as i use that stuff in ballasting model railroad equipment and it takes quite a while even outside to gain that coloration. the fuze does look like the real mccoy from a powder house.
in other words to me (not necessarily an expert) it appears as though that thing has been sitting around a good lenght of time.
comments?

Hi Eagle1,
