The Ebolaworld Happy Fun Blog Comment Post Page

I'd really like to shake hands and say hello to you Sam, but unfortunetely I live far beyond the atlantic ocean.

Don't worry Bro, just one single "Oopsidoodle" and they can't stop to laugh, believe me.

Erm... I don't think Taco-Man is in any of those cartoons.

BLAST (as those moustached, monacled Brits say). I won't have access to Nickeloden on the 28th. Ah well...

Yeah. But why not?

You should've released "Cat 'n Fish in Guess Who's Gay" ^_^ haha

Bloody hell, I don't get that kid's channel too...

darn, i wish i had nicktoons, but i just can't imagine nick airing snowy

Grandpa will never air because of the word "damn" unless Nick censors it or something. Snowy has no chance at all. Cat and Fish might air.

Snowy has no chance at all, I fully agree.

Maybe Sam will realize that most of us Ebolaworld viwers dislike the Snowy cartoons.

"Rooftop Pop" involves Grandpa getting a nail through his foot. I doubt Nick would feature that. Also, Snowy the Frostman features an apparent insult to Jewish people (I doubt Sam was actually trying to insult Jews, but with a network like Nickelodeon directed towards mainly preteens, they would not air the cartoon, or at least cut that part out). I can kind of see Cat and Fish airing...but wouldn't MGM, which produces Tom and Jerry and is not affiliated with Nickelodeon, see the toon as a complete ripoff and sue?

Those are some of my thoughts, I hope Sam keeps getting more recognition for his work...although the things I would be submitting to various publications and such if I was him would be the weekly updates and the like; those, in my opinion, are the funniest. Although he would have to hope the judges were mostly Democratic, so I can see why he wouldn't do that.

I guess I should explain. The Nicktoons people contacted me about this contest. They were interested in "Snowy the Frostman", and also anything else I wanted to submit. The Grandpa episode was trimmed down, and removed of bad language. Cat and Fish has always been my most successful cartoon, as it is the my only original series I've ever been paid to produce. It also fits well with what the nick contest wanted: Family friendly content.

However, all this is mute, since none of my submissions were chosen.

Well, don't get me wrong. The whole concept about a kid-eating snowman is contested and in some aspects entertaining, especially for kids.

Nevertheless it is up to the viewer how they interpret the last scene, where a child girl get's into a weird man's car.

Some say it's just a cartoon, some may say it's way too "disturbing".
Frankly, I had zero to laugh about, although the whole cartoon environment fits to Nicktoons.

I just had a bad taste of memory in my mind when I look back at Frosty the Snowman. It's the ugly guy who wanted to bring the girl in his car.

Yup. That's a disturbing scene, but the sequel will make sense out of it all.

I’m just a guy sitting in front of a 4 year old computer

I've seen your LCD/TV monitor, well I assume that's one. It's defnitely better then mine. I'm still using 17' monitor. 4 year old - that's nothing compared to my freakin old 127Mhz PC which I used about 5 years Nowadays I'm upgrading permantly, and I hope I can get a hold with a Pentium 3,5Ghz HT to replace it with my AMD Athlon 3000.

What I liked to see was your desktop. It was interesting to see what stuff you've got. Do you still use Windows 2000 or Win XP with Windows classic style?

Flash 8 is coming out soon.. but I don't know if it's worth to upgrade. I'm more into SwishMax.

Since you're a cartoonist, I recommend you to have a look at ToonBoom Studio, if you haven't checked it out yet.
