Well, he doesn't have that big balls. Don't be overly fooled by it.
I wrote to Noam Chomksy on this very topic: "In your book Manufacturing Consent, you write that the media operates within a framework that serves the dominant elite to the detriment of everyone else, thereby missing the "real" story, purposely it would seem. I essentially agree with this, but I can't account for the current coverage of the devestation brought on by the government's lacking response to the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The criticism of the government does not seem to fit the proposed propaganda model."
He wrote back: "When government policies lead directly to the destruction of a major city, the killing of thousands of people in a manner that is dramatically race- and class-based, and the rest of the horrors, it would be impossible to suppress it even in a totalitarian state. But the focus is on Bush administration policies, a narrow target, not on the reasons why the poor and black population were trapped and destroyed, which has far deeper roots that remain off the agenda."
Chomsky's right. While race has been mentioned in the media, the blame is being narrow-mindedly focused on specific problems instead of underlying reason for why thousands couldn't get out of the city in the first place.

Hey Andkon.... What I don’t understand is this was a predicted disaster(See the link at the end of my hurricane cartoon) and they knew there would be thousands of homeless, jobless, cityless evacuees, so why wasn’t the federal government prepared? This is very puzzling coming from an administration that ran their whole campaign on promising to “Protect America” in their 2004 election bid.

You're right. The disaster was predictable, however they were not 'interested' on the aftermath.
During the whole administration period, they had other issues to focus on, such terrorism, Iraq etc, thus these subjects had higher priority.
A Hurricane disaster which might 'probably' hit a state with such intensity was impetuously ignored.
Is protecting America from terrorism the same as protecting America from natural catastrophe?

Obviously our government should protect american citizens from all forms of dangers. This is their job. So far, under this administration they have failed us twice. Once on 9/11 and the other last week. I know they can't stop a hurricane, but they can damn well prepare better for it.

9/11 was the bottom line, a pre planned act of Bush, no words about that.
Hurricane Katrina was an 'unprepared' test, which they have completly failed, and the American citizens had to bleed for the avoidable mistake.
They could pass the test and saved a lot of lives if they had taken precaution.
We're here discussing about what 'already' happend, and what could've been avoided. Most people will only wake up when the shit is starting to burn already. When do people wake up before it really is getting worse?
--How come the financial cut and the prediction for a probabel disaster was not in public agenda before? In review 2001/2002 - 'nobody cared' and especially the administration didn't bear.--
I can't understand people let things getting worse when it could be avoided. After things happened, CIA, NSA, Bush, and even Iraq and probably Bin Laden are fault for anything. American people have the strenght and will to change. They can protest, arrange and vote for what is right and what is good for their country, USA.
American people must stand up, and think wisely to whom they give their trust.

I'm not sure it's puzzling: they simply lied. It was just talk without any backing. Not overly surprising.

Please enlighten me: Everytime when it comes to such situation I see Bush playing golf and spending a great time in Texshas.
I think we can rely on that. Everytime he's spending his vacation there, then something bad is gonna happen for sure- it's a signal.

Thank you for that broadcast Sam, I had not seen it yet.
100% on the money. Well I did warn all americans I could that by re-electing Bush, they were re-electing a government which cares mainly about their own interests and that of the rich people.
You get what you vote for.

ZER0K00L is right, Keith Olberman was always pretty couraguruos. The most amazing thing about this whole "we get our media back" revulution is Ferealdo Rivera was going at it with Sean Hannity. Yes, The same Feraldo

OK, Bush was not the guy at total fault. Before Hurricane Katrian, George Bush asked the mayor to let the Coast Guard and Marines get in there to evacuate people. THE MAN DIDN'T BECAUSE HE WANTED SOME PEOPLE TO GET WELFARE. WELL A LOT OF PEOPLE DIED THANKS TO THAT RETARD!
