"BMW means a car that's fun to drive.
Volvo means safety."
Are you sure someone isn't paying you to say that stuff?! O_o
JUST KIDDNG!!!
But seriously, to me, Ebolaworld is a pretty good Flash site.

Honestly? A poor name for a good site. That doesn't make any sense in relation to the content either.
I love the site. But not the name. It suggests a site where all the characters make Monster Chomper seem squeaky clean and huggable by comparison.
Eh... Unless the question is what I think when I hear the name of the site. In which case the name means a funny and righteous slapping around of Dubya, primarily. And some funny cartoons secondarily. That often have a certain Homestar for Olda People (who are however, probably not Republicans) feel.

Um ... a contagious, highly dangerous disease that is somehow related to good flash animations? The title is so off-beat, I like it.

Ebolaworld? Hey, I have been visiting this site for some time and not once have I left bleeding out from my eyes!
Seriously though, great cartoons - especially the Linda Show and the News Flashes. You really get to the heart of what is going on. Like, um...is the penalty for public drunkeness having your face bashed in by several cops? or why bother having a Q&A session on national TV if both the Q and the A are pre-scripted by someone else?
Ebolaworld is a thorn in the side of those who call everything not within their narrow world view "liberal".

I've been researching the topic of branding and in 2006 I plan to narrow Ebolaworld’s focus. To me, Ebolaworld is at its best (and does its best) when dealing with social and political issues. So, I'm going to put more emphasis on these types of cartoons.
Homestarrunner is obviously the leader when it comes to flash cartoons, so instead of competing, I must find where they’re lacking and make that my niche. I'm already doing this as they have no political issues, and are more or less for kids. To be more successful Ebolaworld should become more political and more adults-only. If Homestarrunner is Coca-Cola, then I will be Pepsi. I like Pepsi better anyway.

Will everyone stop using the phrase "sam, no offense, but..."
Anyway, you missed my point. Pepsi is the #2 selling cola brand in America, regardless of your personal opinion. It was simply an example as how I shouldnt compete with Homestar, but acknoledge my postion, and narrow my focus by doing what homestar doesnt.

sam, the phrase "sam no offense" has been on this site, well... for as long ago some guy said sam no offense on the site . this phrase has become, a part of this site, an indelible
mark if you will, symbolizing the dull somewhat monotonous people that have far too much time on there hands(me) that make up much of the ebola fan base. if you outlaw the filibuster... uh, i mean , so you see? if get rid of the phrase "sam no offense", you are getting rid of part of ebolaworld history.

To be perfectly honest, the word "Ebolaworld" sounds like one of those crappy board games that only last for, like, six months.
However, it also means a place where I can go relate to other Pinko Liberal Tree-Hugging Commies. ;P

@Eviltaco: I fully agree, there was a tv film about "Ebola" virus.
@Sam and folks:
I always pointed out my favourites for Ebolaworld. It was Linda and the Bush Show that kept me going back to Ebolaworld again and again, because they have social and political content. I'm not sure if I would be right to say, that these cartoons are more mature, thus they are more for "older" viewer, like me...
I always found it interesting how Sam combined humor and reality satire. His cartoons make more sense then those from Homestarr. Who are those weird 'things'? I don't know how you call them.
Sam cartoons, tell us about the the social and political aspects that are real and interesting to watch. Linda and that diat, the gay agenda, all those things are familiar with the reality.
I've been watching Ebola since, I don't know for how long, but very long. I always wondered why you, Sam, put Taco, Snowman, those squirrels into the spotlight? You can provide something more mature. Too be honest, I had enough of Oopsidoodle, Cat'n Fish - guess who's gay , and Snowman! As a long time viewer, I never complained, except about Snowman cartoon, that was just not Ebolaworld..
You have qualities that surpasses Homestarr easily. Who said Homestarr's number 1? I watched a few cartoons of them, I stopped right away, because it is just pure stupidity. No sense, no nothing.
I'm very glad you decide "an image change" for Ebolaworld. That's how I always wanted to be.

... that's the whole point of Homestar Runner. It's nonsense and it's just stupid funny. Fun-for-all-ages-type stuff.
Ebolaworld is a political and social satire. It doesn't make sense to even compare the two.
Pardon me if I'm reading way too much into the site, Sam T.
EDIT: Hey, the site was being a little squirrely when I tried posting this, so this might end up on the site more than once.

The Baxshtor, you are right. My site is more popular when dealing with political and social satire. However, when first created, all the cartoons were about Taco-Man, Grandpa, Smurks, and Cat and Fish. It wasn't till much later Taco-Man started reporting the news (gimmick) and the Bush Show appeared (also a gimmick). I enjoy making political and social humor, but also enjoy making silly cartoons like Snowy (My fav cartoon). In 2006, I plan to make more social satire and hope it won’t be considered an "image change", but merely a more focused website.
Next Friday, I’m going to ask a question more related to this discussion.

In reguards to this...
"If Homestarrunner is Coca-Cola, then I will be Pepsi. I like Pepsi better anyway."
If that be the case then get ready for a new product on the shelves soon. Its called Dr. Pepper (refering to the upcoming IndianBurialGround.com flash site)
BTW. I am a fan of EbolaWorld. Even though I'm gonna do my own flash thing, nothing will change that. Sam... don't beat yourself up too badly over HSR. They get old easily and in my opinion fail to test the waters as much as they should. But...I can't bad mouth them cause they can kick my ass in actionscript.

The netherlands.
Meaning:
A country which has more than 16 million inhabitants. Most of those inhabitants are smarter than the average man in the USA. We are less fat, more educated, we vote allot smarter and lefter, have an independent press(unlike the USA) and the best thing is that we research something look at the facts and then see what is the best thing to do. For example legalising prostution, soft-drugs and saying no to the dead-penalty or guns.
And again we look at the facts.
The drugs abuse is lower then in the USA, but again and again we hear the USA saying the opposed. There are less murders here, but again and again we hear the USA saying the opposed. There are less innocent people put into jail here, but again and again we hear the USA saying the opposed.
So thats why the Netherlands stand for:
The opposed.

yo, netherlands, you gotta realize that the entire populus of the u.s is not made up of stupid, fat, ignorant rednecks like the rest of the world seems to think. there are many educated and intelligent people here. yes. i do admit that that there are many stupid greedy people in the u.s. but assuming that all u.s. citizens are like this is stereotyping. and as we all know this has bad results. the halocaust ,
rwandan genocide, and so on. i must also remind you that idiots exist in all countries. pervez musharraf,
tony blair, ian paisley, vladmir putin,
kim jong il, hu jintao, and the list goes on. stupidity is not exclusive to the u.s. i'm sure your even your precious netherlands has them. yes. our government is composed of slimy stupid greedy bastard politicians. my point is this. hate our government, not us. also, don't even try that whole "we elected them, therefore they accuratley represent us" thing . bullcrap. in case you hadn't noticed, the last two presidential elections were rigged.
As i'm almost sure that congressional
elections were also rigged. our government has many short comings, as i'm sure your government also has.
you may have better elected representitives, and legalised "soft drugs" but that does not make your people better than us.

I was talking about the average american
and it is a fact that the americans have a less world knowlegde and have more weight than the people in the Netherlands have.
And so it is also a fact that the mayority of the american population supported bush.
Therefore the AVERAGE AMERICAN is more stupid than the AVERAGE DUTCHMAN

Ok me, everything you said REALLY pissed me off but this blog (I thought) was about what ebolaworld means to us.
To me, I think of the disease immediately. I also think of the liberal/political satire involved with this site. I found this site at hrwiki.org on the new halloween page it listed Taco-Man. So, I looked for Taco-Man on the website and found him on the first 3 emails he answered. He really cracked me up so I watched other stuff. Even though I don't agree with it much I still think it's pretty funny.
By the way evilpie, "dude, THE VOTE WAS RIGGED!!!!!!!!
JESUS CHRIST!!! are all dutch people pompous assholes?" you just stereotyped the Dutch. I don't like what he said but you just stereotyped.
