I'm sick and tired of sports titles. There's about 7 versions of that piece of shit "Madden NFL" from Electronic Arts. I've never tried Ico (though I'll probably rent it and try it out), but it is disappointing the only titles that are ever noticed are movie-remakes and sport games from EA.
I doubt anybody here has heard of "Midtown Madness 2," which itself was a very fun, free (as in freedom) game. Never made the charts though, probably because the developer wasn't as big as EA or Rockstar.

I never understood sports games. Why play a cheap recreation of something you can easily do in real life? A few sequels are okay, but once you get past 10 there is a problem. What is Final Fantasy going to do once they can't find a high enough Roman Numeral?

Ico, another title I never heard of before.
Why don't you try out a game, which does not require to completly finish the entire game.
I do not have much time, but I had to finish Resident Evil 4, that game is outstanding. Among that, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear 3 will be on the next complete list.
If I need a 5 min enjoyment, I put on Tekken 5, Soul Calibur 3 or WWE.
One of those overly repeditive sports games,that just gets better every year,is the Tony Hawk.(Well,accept for 2004. THUG2 SUCKED.)But at least they made up for it with the new one.

@John Q. Smith: the reason ppl buy and play these sports games is because they can be portrayed as their favorite players, or team. Other than that, sports games are pointless. But i admit, that i love sports games.

The only sports games I play are ones that involve really fast cars. Otherwise I play games like the jak series or maybe MechWarrior 4 Mercenaries. First-Person-Shooters are good too.

Tekken 5 - good for a short match against your friend.

Resident Evil 4 - the best action/adventure
Silent Hill 3 - YEAH I am honest, this games scares the shit out of me....That's why I stopped playing the series.
Gran Turismo 4 - the best racing game ever made
Pro Evolution Soccer 5 - the most authentic football ..ah I mean soccer game but what really pisses me off, is the fact that they don't have the FIFA license. All player, uniform names are fake.
FIFA 2006 - I hate EA, I hate them. Just because they have a lot money and buy game developer studios doesn't mean they are the best. These are just worthless monopolistic pigs. However FIFA games are the most accurate sports games with real names etc.

It's actually only 2 sports games. PES5 and FIFA 2006.
Burnout is more like an arcade. Gran Turismo, I would categorize that as a racing simulation, the best so far.
I forgot to mentioned Need 4 Speed Underground and "Most Wanted". The latter seems to rock and I got to play that soon. These are good arcade racing games.
A couple of weeks ago I played Mortal Kombat Deception, the controls sucks and it is difficult in some way, but I played an included demo from Midway. It's AREA 51. I thought what's that shit?! Once I played that demo I couldn't stopped replaying it all over again. It is so stunning and exciting.
I also hope to get a hold with Killzone and Call of Duty 2 (I played the prequel).
I've played Resi Evil since part 1 on PS1. I collected all 3 Resident Evil parts, thus I'm a huge fan of this genre. However part 4 is so incredible amazing. Why you dislike it?

I started to play Final Fantasy X, huge respect to the Japanese once again. This game is not just only a game. Hell, you need half of a year to complete it just like Gran Turismo...
I screwed up my memory card! Thanks to DATEL. I bought a USB - Memory/PC exchange accessory which let me store and transfer PS2 save games from my PS2 to the PC. Great huh? I firstly used it for backup my old save games.
I got Metal Gear 3 as well and I've played it since the first part. Maybe if I got more time I play it for sure.
Sorry Sam, I've never played Stubbs the Zombie before, what the hell is that anyway. In fact, I never had a Xbox, even though I was playing with my mind to buy a modded Xbox...Nevertheless I kept my fingers away from that mashine, like the Xbox 360.
I'll wait for the PS3, and I wait longer until Matrix or any other modchip developer have created a good modchip.
What I miss on PS2 are simple party games like on Nintendo 64 and Gamecube. I obtained a weird Bomberman game and another Bomberman kart and it seemed to be one of the worst shit for PS2.

Try out Gran Turismo, there you got EVERYTHING. Every Jap to German car and pure realism and exact car sounds!
I really like games that make you think. I dont care for shooters, fighting games, or any brain numb button mashers. I also tend to enjoy games that aren’t mainstream such as Ico, Colossus, and Stubbs the Zombie. However, I do enjoy the Ratchet and Clank series.

Medal of Honor, an EA shit sucking game. I've played the series from part 1, and I was amazed by the first part ever since.
However nothing stands against "Call of Duty", sorry. It is the most authentic and realistic (also intensive) WW2 FPS game I've ever played.
The sales number and popularity of CoD is enormous.

Why am I anglo saxon? also I don't particularlylike the game for itself I just love the fun time I have when I play with my friends a little game mode we invented called snipe the sniper. But yeah otherwise the game sucks. And I own batlefront 2 (PS2) which I love but the core gameplay of Battlefront 1 is better.

(sigh), Microsoft is overrated. The 360 is ok but, in my opinion, if you stick a brand spankin new console on a plasma screen and give it a kick tail sound system you could make an ATARI look awesome. Also, people compare it to the Xbox and to the GC and PS2 when these are obviously not next gen. Personally, I'll stick with Nintendo's Revolution. That controller is going to rule.

When I say Batlefront 2 I mean the Star Wars game. I think you're thinking about Battlefield 2, which I haven't played.
Bax (I don't care what your real name is I'm calling you Bax), the entire battlefield series is famous for allowing you to play all sides. They are also notorious for ignoring the stats of the equipment both sides use and make it fair play. For example, in BF1942 a sherman could duke it out with a panzer and win. In BF2, an M1A1 Abrams MBT and a T72 are on equal playing fields. So, it's not realistic but you can be anybody you want to but the only difference is the sides look German and American or whatever.
I dont really like games that are too short...

I know how unfair the gaming market is, although its not as unfair as television. Another oft-overlooked title is Startopia and all the Sim games Maxis did before "The Sims".
I played Sim City I couldn't get even one citizen. The Sim's layout is much better and the game itself is much more fun. There are some truly wierd Sim games you really should pick up though. They cost usually around $20.
Such as Sim Ant. That one is truly wierd but kind of fun. Maybe a rental.
