Ok, I've got to admit, that was pretty funny.

What are these SNL parodies that you guys are talking about?

P.S. Here's another funny video (ever wanted to meet the guy who writes the presidential speeches?): http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail.../2675149? htv=12

A little old, but still very relevant.

saturday night live, ever heard of it?

Yes, but I don't know when it's on or anything... is it something like "This Hour Has 22 Minutes"?

its on at 11:30 eastern time.

"is it something like "This Hour Has 22 Minutes"?" uhh.... i'm not really sure that you mean by that.

*what you mean by that.

Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

What? Has 9/11 not happened? Have we learned nothing? Nice attempt to convince people of this bogus of a corrupt government.
This is not a defining characteristic of fascism at all! Why this is America today, and if we don't unify against terrorists we all know they'll kill more! Soon they'll be our government, take away our freedoms, and change America into an Islamic Monarchy. We need to support our troops and stand behind our Christian leader, president George Bush. If Bush is so horrible, then why would he read the bible? Why does he go to Church? People that feel so strongly about doing good would not go and do the opposite: Bush is a simple man and his motives are in plain view. This terrostic plot by the loony left wings has gone to far and this blog needs to be deleted before people start to believe this jargon.

I'm going to ask you nicely first, please remove your blog on behalf of your creator, God, in whom has sent Bush on this mission in the first place.

"It is God, afterall, that has told me to go to Iraq."

-President George W. Bush

To Ron Robinson, there are 3 parts to my post:

1.You posted in the wrong blog post comments.

2.I hope that's blinding sarcasm, because if you take a good look at the big picture; ordinary people's freedoms are being reduced while large corporations are free do do (almost) anything they please provided they pay the US government first. That brings me to several of the other points.

Read them, if you dare, Ron.

3.Your sarcasm isn't working. So there! :p

If that WASN'T sarcasm (you sad, sad person) leave, and come back with a proper opinon instead of a regurgitated statement.

I await your response.

ron, if you weren't being sarcastic, then listen up.

"If Bush is so horrible, then why would he read the bible? Why does he go to Church? People that feel so strongly about doing good would not go and do the opposite"
well ron, maybe he doesn't give a crap about the bible or going to church maybe. he just does these things so that people think he's a so called "good christian". pandering to the people, it's what politicians do best.

Ron,
Erm ... try this quote on for size:
"Even after 1942 Hitler went on maintaining that he regarded the church as indispensable in political life. He would be happy, he said in one of those teatime talks at Obersalzberg, if someday a prominent churchman turned up who was suited to lead one of the churches- or if possible both the Catholic and Protestant churches reunited. He still regretted that Reich Bishop Muller was not the right man to carry out his far-reaching plans. But he sharply condemned the campaign against the church, calling it a crime against the future of the nation. For it was impossible, he said, to replace the church by any party ideology."

Speer, Albert, "Inside the Third Reich: Memoirs by Albert Speer," Galahad Books, 1970

good luck with that whole bag of assumptions you've got -- assuming people who go to church and read the Bible are "good people". Come on, guy. Even Satan quotes the Bible in Luke. Give me a break.

ps "Gott Mit Uns", eh Ron?

So what you're trying to tell me is that Hitler and Bush use the same tactics for manipulation of the people. Is this the 1940's? No, the world has changed. If someone was corrupt, checks and balances would immediatley put them under pressure to reverse their ways. If you seriously think half of the stuff on this blog is true, Bush would have been impeached. If half of this stuff were true, I would lose all faith in my leaders, including the leaders in church that have taught me so much. Are they bullshitting me so that I keep coming back to the church and giving money? No. Bush is not either. You just have to have confidence in him, have faith. That's what we Christians do, we have faith even when all evidence (which is more of the time BS) points the other way.

You guys need to open your minds to the possibilities here.

Wow. Ron likes to write novels for posts.

I'm finding it very difficult to take Ron seriously.

So until he responds and states quite clearly that he's serious about what he just said, I'm not going to bother with a response because it looks to me like rather nice satire. And if it is indeed satire as I think, Ron, then I must praise your skills.

its fun...for about 2 minutes

Ron Robinson = Sean Hannity?

Yes, great job asshole! When we're too much of a dumbass to type up a response to somebody whose opinion is different from ours, why not just insult them?

How, Anonymous, do you manage to breathe?

ESN,
That's the thing. I meet nuts like him all the time in church. It's always in one ear and out the other with them. You want to believe it's satire and that "noone could really be that stupid" ... but people really are and they're teaching entire generations of christians to just shut off their minds and believe whatever they sell them (as long as it's branded with an icthus). It frustrates me that a religion thick with a tradition of intelligent and reasonable leaders has become a pulpit for paranoia and profit margins.
I guess you could say that his (if it is) satire struck a nerve with me....

I found two great quotes about Bush's domestic soying program and I thing you will all agree that these are classics.

"Those who would sacrifice liberties for security deserve neither."
-Ben Franklin

"You still need a court order to moniter someone's calls. Otherwise it is illegal."
-W to a Buffalo reporter

This is great stuff. Now is it just a coincedence that when Clinton lied to congress about his sex life he was impeached (Though he wasn't removed from office) when Bush lies to start the Iraq war no one mentions impeachment. (Why do you liberals always bad mouth the president- Ann Coulter). I think not.

Ron Robinson are you the number guy? Also if you want to learn how to be sarcastic why don't you watch some weekly updates. Otherwise go post on ann coulters homeage.

-Future President

umm... ron..... all this stuff is true, bush should have been impeached, but he hasn't been. you can't always trust poloticians to do what is right.

one more thing, when you said "If half of this stuff were true, I would lose all faith in my leaders, including the leaders in church that have taught me so much." are you saying that your church leaders told you to be conservative and have faith in the government no matter what?

"Those who would sacrifice liberties for security deserve neither."
-Ben Franklin

My response
"Those who would rather die in a terrorist attack than have a little added privacy are beyond ignorant"
-Me

"are you saying that your church leaders told you to be conservative?"

At the end of every church sunday the priest will talk a little about politics, and the overwhelming Christian view is to back behind Bush.

"if you want to learn how to be sarcastic why don't you watch some weekly updates."

here's sarcasm for you: marijuana is good for the brain. That post was more than ridiculous, once again if that was the case than it would be LEGAL, and it is not. Right there is your proof of Sam T's lies and propaganda. How much is John Kerry paying you?

Sam T. and his propaganda! I am growing sick and tired of his liberal agenda and his talking taco!!

goddamnit.

Cigarettes should be illegal. Guns should be illegal. And candy should be illegal. This is because people cannot be trusted with any personal responsibility, and all of those are bad for your health just like marijuana is.

Well, you could always be a hypocrite I suppose... but then you should be honest about standing against personal responsibility. What you really want is a government-run nanny state, I guess.

My response
"Those who would rather die in a terrorist attack than have a little added privacy are beyond ignorant"
-Me

Meet my good friend Stalin. His country is very safe from "enemies of the people". I trust the guy, he really has the best interests of the nation at heart! I don't know how many "enemies of the people" there actually are because all of their trials are top-secret (just like the ones in your "USA" for alleged terrorists nowadays) but I think it's probably a good thing that they're happening. It makes me feel safer.

P.S. Take this test, Ron:

You may be surprised at the results.

Blast!

I didn't see the other thread.

I still had a strong suspicion that you weren't being serious, but I decided to post that anyway to cover my bases (I originally had a whole "if you're really sarcastic as I think you are, you have my full permission to laugh at me" thing at the beginning of my post, but my original post was deleted and I didn't want to bother with typing it out again).

Ron/Zatheist/whoever the hell you are

He didn't pay me anything but the boss at his rally was pretty cool.
