just cause he's an atheist doesn't mean he excludes himself from holidays. I should know, I'm an atheist and I still like Xmas.
My parents are Christians and they celebrate Christmas, but minus the Christ. They believe that if God wanted them to celebrate the birth of Jesus, then he would have A) told them the date and B) said to celebrate it. However, neither is mentioned in the bible (Much like the rapture).
My mom even spells it X-mas.
My point is the Christmas holiday has never had any religious meaning to me, so I have no problem saying Merry Christmas. Stick that up your ass and smoke it Bill O'Reilly. (I'm sure he reads my blog.)

Chirstmas has many meanings, The birth of Chirst for chirstians, Santa Clause for the kids, and also just the spirit of giving and being with family. Just because you don't believe in Chirst doesn't mean you can't celebrate Chirstmas. Besides he wasn't even born in december, it was actually sometime in the spring, March or May I think.
Like most of the christian holidays, they stole it from pagan rituals. The people agreed to believe in god, as long as they could still celebrate their old "rituals".
Like the Christmas tree, etc.
So, every Christian who celebrates Christmas is celebrating a pagan ritual...
I'm an athiest & I celebrate hollidays that aren't even recognized in america, so longs as candy, costumes, or shopping are involed.
Valentines & St. White's Day = Candy Day parts 1 & 2.
St. Patricks Day = Green Beer & Gambling Day.
Holloween = Cosplay Day.
Christmas = Capitolist Commercial Consumerism Celebration.
Chaunika = Small Presents & Pyrotechnics Week.
etc, etc,
This year, Santa's on the top 10 list of things that scare both little kids AND teenagers, along with clowns, Barney, Teletubbies, Muppets, etc. Yup, even our beloved Fraggles.

I liked the 2006 in review. I'll be watching out for whats happening in California and I'll have my eyes open come 2014.
