The Ebolaworld Happy Fun Blog Comment Post Page

Happy new year Sam! And happy new year to all who read this blog!

The Dutch free newspaper "Dag" has put a "kieskompas" on her website, it helps you to decide which candidate shares your ideas the most. As you see it is also available in English.
I am curious what your outcome will be.

Obama was my favorite, and he became first after I did the test. Second became John Edwards, Hilary became third, Richardson fourth. Ron Paul was fifth, but he was very far away.

But the test says I am more "economic left" and more "Social liberalism/Progressive" than all of the candidates.

I was closest to Romney and McCain.

That video is hilarious. Protect your "tiddies" with Tiddy Bear! =P

I'm solidly in the Democratic sphere.

Which is no surprise to me, I've done tests like this before.

I've also always considered the Republicans to be utterly horrible. The last respectable one was Eisenhower, ever since they've been horrible and getting worse and worse at that.

The idea of someone like Romney or Huckabee winning the next election makes my stomach turn. It'd be like Dumbya all over again. The sad thing is, I consider hordes of US voters to be dumb enough to elect one of those assclowns.

Actually because I rather hate that type of voter I really hope Hillary wins, just to see those guys squirm!

Anyway though I'll be fair... Giuliani is not THAT bad for the right. And I'd have found McCain tolerable if he hadn't tripped over himself in an attemtp to play up to Bushists elements.

But Romney and Huckabee... Ick!

You know though... if I wanted to ensure Democrat victory in US elections for a while... I think I'd want to build up the Libertarian party into something thats not a joke outside of the internet.

You see... that'll divide right-wing voters between Republicans (The religious hicks) and libertarians (right-wingers with a distaste for the religious right. Anti-war right-wingers, anti-drugwar rightwingers etc.)

As they'd mostly attract right-wing votes, since Libertarianism is mainly just a right-wing philosophy (rightist economical and social ideas, pro-gun) which is merely against the war of drugs and wars in general and not all tangled up in religion. Its really like a less hawkish, less religious right-wing.

And therefor it ought to be able to carry the solid Democrat voting bloc to victory if it got big enough. Because it'd neatly split up the right-wing voters into two smaller parties!

Of course in the case that the Libertarians win an election one day. Its STILL a blow to the most damaging group in US politics, the religious right! And extremer Libertarian ideas would likely not get through congress, so they'd probably actually end up more like Republican-Lite in practice.

Plus it may replace the ailing two-party system with a multiparty one in the end.

I think its a risk worth taking. Besides... Although on the other hand.. US politics currently is on the level of mud-slinging. Introducing Machiavellianism as a tactic may be kind of a pandora's box.

@Mick

Divide and rule!

But it is much easier to creat a party even more extreme then the Republican party. "True christians" are then forced to vote on that party, pussing the Republican party towards the center, and the Democratic party towards the left. Some Democrats will then creat a fourth party because of the Democratic party is to left and the Republican party still to right.

This will force the US to change there voting system into a more democratic Multiparty system.

Minorities will be better represented, the people as a whole will be better represented, etc.

A poll on the, in the Netherlands seen as a right-winged, blog (but most liberal-right, not christian!).

Saw this on The Soup..

I just noticed an Ann Coulter ad in the border of this blog. How idiotic.

It's cute; cheeto colored!

Shouldn't it be called the Titty Bear?
