The real question? Is Mz. Sommers a looker?

You reposted much of this from last time there was a school shooting? Or am I having some weird deja vu?

I probably wrote about it before, yes. And it is still the unmentionable topic.

Have you seen Jackson Katz's documentary Tough Guise? He has a really powerful scene about this, with a big patchwork of professional blowhards from the TV news shows talking about how there's "no pattern" to who does the shootings. Meanwhile photos of each of the teenage males behind the major school shooting incidents (as of 1999) stare out at the audience.

It's very hurtful to talk about rampaging murderers in public. It is wrong for women to raise this issue, and risk causing those who are better than us to feel anxiety or pain.

I know the shooter was white. I knew it as soon as he shot himself. Hip-hoppers don't do that.
Auto-refuting bullshit. Most "hip-hoppers" are young white males.

Okay, so men in this culture are a little different from women. Well, let me tell you, it isn't easy dealing with those kinds of cultural expectations. You women don't have to deal with the NRA dues, the headaches of keeping your gun cleaned, the price of bullets. . .

Men? This was a 14 year old kid, not a man. Male? Okay. Man? No.
Commonalities include someone known by authorities to be bullied, angry, violent as well as white and male. With no effective help being given to them nor action taken to protect others from them.

Also, the most recent widely publicized previous school shooting was a young Asian man, not a white man. He was, however, known by school authorities to be troubled and possibly violent.

I don't quarrel with your idea but wanted to note that guns also seem to be a common denominator. As Chery Wheeler says, "If it were up to me, I'd take away the guns."

School shooters (and those perpetrators who kill multiple victims in general) also more often target female victims. That is another topic that is rarely addressed.
