That picture is great! Krugman even looks a little scared of you, and Atrios is clearly blinded by your glory!

One of the highlights of the weekend was finally meeting you and having a chance to have a substantive discussion.
Thank you so much for attending.

and Atrios is clearly blinded by your glory!
I think he was closing his eyes in disgust and wondering why he didn't just stay in bed that day.

I loved talking to you, too, ql, mer, upyernoz and V for Virginia. Didn't get enough time for the chatting. Next time they should have coffee klatches in the schedule.

I wish could have been there. Atrios and Krugman and Helen Thomas! I don't think I would have slept at all. As for the teapot, short and stout, I am in good company here.

Nuts? Any economist who admits that is an economist I'll listen to.
I hoped you kicked sand in their faces, too, though in a graceful, snaky way.

Echidne - Your presence and insights helped make an Economics panel at the end of a long day of discussions interesting and informative. I'm so pleased to have had the opportunity to meet you.

Let me add my voice to those grateful for your insights and accessibility last weekend. You belonged on that panel and your presentation on health care economics was excellent.
Thank you!

I once taught a small child the following, with the appropriate gestures.
"I'm a little teapot, short and stout! Here is my handle! Here is my handle... (pause, hands on hips) I'll be damned, I'm the sugar bowl!"
Child's parents were mildly amused. Child's grandmother thought it was the funniest damn thing she had ever seen.
And Helen Thomas? I have such a fan girl crush on Helen.

BBRUGGER!
I just read this an laughed so hard I Cried.
Thank you.
Echidne has that whole modesty thing down. She was great, great, great.
Substance, humor and that VOICE!
It reminded me a bit of Helen Mirren (whom I also love) only a bit more down to earth.

I really was wondering what that pose was about. Your explanation was more prosaic than mine, I think. I was thinking you were using your hands to help explain an analogy story relating to economics ("People at the high end...", "those who live on the mountaintops...", "from up north to...").
