I also don't recognize many (in fact perhaps any) names as economists who actually work in the addictions field. That could be self-interest, but most of them could shift into other fields of research fairly easily.
The Supreme Court's decision is interesting. Suppose the feds legalized marijuana (maybe when Hillary makes Bill Secretary of Health) and some of the states banned it. Would the interstate commerce clause force all of the states to accept federal legalization? The recent wine decision suggests that that might be the case, although that one also dealt with state favouritism and protectionism.
