The lastest information is a little more encouraging that what at least one forecaster was anticipating on Monday. They are predicting less of a movement east than before, closer now to the predictions of a few days ago. Galveston and Houston look like the most likely points of impact.

I've got good friends who moved to Galveston from Missouri around the same time I moved to Minesota. I hope the storms chills out before it hits land.

I wouldn't worry too much. The government and people of Texas have shown themselves to be among the most competent in the world. The recent lessons of Katrina are also no doubt on their minds.
