I cant remember who I picked I usually roll with serena but Venus was looking so strong, I lost out on this one.

Vee has her "Diana Ross look" going there! Very happy for Serena. I like Jelena, but no way I would pull for her in a final against a Williams.
Poor Dinara! She's had a great summer and I know she's disappointed. Glad good sportsmanship won out in the end.

We have a lot of rain too. I raced home only to see the women's final was off. I kinda expected it, but had my fingers crossed. The body shot, in slo mo looked like it hurt. I do look for to Safina fine tuning that game. Outside of the temper tantrums, Shelia you are right, her day is coming. I really like her game.
Now Serena played like a true veteran. Loved every minute, and I just sensed she had drawn up her plans, and stuck to them.
I just don't think Jelena's power will stand up to Serena's. At least when she plays Serena this time, we won't have to hear the announcers tell us how fast she is 100 times. I hope it goes to 3 sets. I know they don't, but it is more entertaining. Too bad they don't go to 5 sets.

Hi Mike, we both were pulling for Venus. I thought that she was in the mindset too. But Serena obviously had other ideas. I'm not sure how I feel about the doo.

I think that she just got mad in the heat of the moment because she was losing and her chest hurt 
. I'm glad that she could muster a smile at the end.
After she has a day or two to think about it, I'm sure that she will be very pleased with her success this summer...hell, this year!
Blogpassion, interesting that you mention the 5-set thing. I've ALWAYS thought that the ladies should play 5-sets wherever the men play them. As you can see over the last few years, a lot of the men's tournaments have been reduced to 3-setters.
Serena was on the money today. She definitely played from her head and not from her heart. Glad to see it.

Villager, Serena made "a come back" sound weak. She just burst back up to the top at lightening speed. I am so happy for both her and Venus.
