Thank You for your input!

I think you were wrong after all. I passed the test and the QEP decided to abort my application. No reason was given, but I had no volunteer work or overseas experience due to financial constraints. A Master's degree and ranking in the 98th percentile based on intelligence testing did not seem to impress the Board members. I have all the skills and attributes to perform the job but lack the Ivy League credentials that I believe the QEP looks for. The panel, unnamed and close-doored, is an opportunity to manipulate the rankings and hire those that might not be hired were the process truly fair.

Not to start rumors or anything, but I thought i heard one reason the State Dept was revamping the Written Test was to shorten the length of time between it and the Oral Assessment. The evaluation done by MacKenzie pointed out that the long wait time b/t the two tests was contributing to not retaining the best candidates. I thought that as the new written test was implemented, they would also hold sessions more often - if that's the case, you may not need to wait nearly so long before testing again, and standing up the eighth time.

Cheers,
Charles

Gravatar Hope you are getting ready for April, or whenever they decide to test...kinda weird, huh? Anyway, I read this Japanese phrase the other day and I really like it: fall down seven times, stand up eight. Cheers!
