CTA and NEA are both pro-choice--except when it comes to giving me a choice whether to belong and pay dues or not. Or giving parents the choice of whether or to send their kids to crappy public schools.
In retrospect, the only choice they believe in is the "choice" whether or not to kill a baby.

I am not surprised or shocked at this news. IF NEA/CTA had the guts, both Barbara Kerr and Reg Weaver would send personal invitations to invite Gov. Arhnold to speak to their RA at their Convention this summer in Los Angeles.

Who else is doing anything about the $2 billion lie your governor told you?
After a decade of little to no education funding increases from our legislature, the NEA sent Arizona a little over $200,000 several years ago to help pass an educational funding proposition.
It adds about $2,500 a year to the salaries of educators who meet the performance requirements.
If you stopped biting the hand that feeds you for a few minutes you would have time to go get that $2 billion that your governor took from you.

Darren... it is a state law that makes you join.
The NEA takes no stance on the Roe v Wade issue. The only times I have ever read about where Roe v Wade was involved in NEA-supported cases were where the teachers wanted to have their babies and were being fired because of it. Another case was where a female teacher was fired because she divorced her husband.
