The Education Wonks

Gravatar I apologize in advance for my ignorance. Are administrators in the same union as educators? If not, do they have their own union? If so, why can't we the educator's unions use the same negotiators?

Gravatar Administrators are not, as a general rule, in teachers' unions. TAdministrators negotiate their contracts individually in small districts, or, in the case of large districts where there are herds of them, through their own "association."

Teachers' unions can't use the same negotiators because they're the very people who are on the other side of the table. At impasse with us, but "negotiating" raises for themselves.

Gravatar This just makes me sick.

Gravatar I read that in USA Today this morning. I think, for most people, the results are far worse.

When you consider energy costs, and the huge amount of money that goes to folks making over 300K (who are actually benefiting from Republican tax cuts)regular folks get the short end of the stick, as they always do and will under this administration.

This is the very worst president I've seen in my lifetime. Republicans can't even claim to be fiscally responsible anymore. I heard a right-wing economist named Bartlett on the radio the other night explaining that Bush has ruinbed the economy and betrayed all the "principles" of the Reagan administration, for which he'd worked.

Gravatar This President certainly isn't a Reagan Republican, and for that he'll pay the price of history.

But worst president of your lifetime? Do you *remember* Jimmy Carter?
