The Education Wonks

Christianity is baaaad, pagan is good. We all like sheep, have gone astray. Did you know, by the way, that Dearborn Mich School District gets Federal Funds to buy properly killed meats (animals must be killed in the name of Allah) because the Muslim children were being discriminated against by the school cafeterias? I bet Christianity is NOT a problem in those schools.

It's important to note - which the WND article does not- that previously two elementary students tried to distribute fliers to their class to promote their church’s vacation bible school by way of the schools’ “backpack mail” process, used to send information home to kids’ parents. They weren’t allowed to, because of the schools’ prohibition on sending home “partisan, sectarian, religious, or political” fliers. The kids’ father got Jerry Falwell to go after the county, and facing an expensive lawsuit they would lose the school board agreed to let religious groups distribute materials through the system.

So the pagan group is just taking advantage of a loophole that Jerry Falwell's christian organization opened up. Fair is fair.

Gravatar Christians appropriated Yule in the name of Christmas in the same way that Sperry appropriated moccasins in the name of Topsider boat shoes (which I wore when I was "prep" in the 80s).

Big deal. However, schools sending oout flyers promoting any religion IS a big deal.

Gravatar Ah, your trackbacks are fixed!

Gravatar Here's a perspective from down under. Australian denominational schools are partly funded by a combination of federal and state government schemes. Recently, the federal government has been attacking state schools over their supposed lack of values. According to the last two ministers of education, state schools lack identity and are stacked by leftist teachers who are brainwashing kids with their Maoist ideology (this is no invention of mine, our government is actually truly government schools).
Solution: they are going to partly fund chaplains in schools, state and private.
