What concern do you have about retinal scans? Surely they'd be more secure than any national ID card, and less prone to abuse than SSN numbers.

In this case, any complaints are a tempest in a teapot. Fingerprinting technology has now advance to the point that ink and paper will eventually go the way of the LP. Scanners are now beginning to be widely used for that purpose.

If we have no particular objection to fingerprinting, what is our objection to this technology?

Yep, I have had it up to my irises with illegal aliens. Hopefully, Mexico will scan all the irises of that country and keep them from escaping to the USA!
