Its important to remember that formal education is NOT an inalienable right. Really it is only important for democracies.

Why is it that teachers automatically lean towards leftist beliefs?
Teachers have no problem with the government throwing them tax payer money (for poor results no less) yet think it is wrong to have the same military that protects their rights from speaking to their students?
Why do teachers think their right to leftist propaganda outweighs and is more important than the military speaking and presenting their benefits.
Other than politicians, teachers and the education establishment are the most out of touch from reality group of people.
Those who can do, those who can't either run for office or teach.

"reader" I don't think that is a fair assumption.
I homeschool, and frequently criticize public education, and occasionally even public school teachers. But not all teachers share any particular belief.
Regardless of political beliefs, most teachers I have met share a vision to better the lives of their students. They just have very different notions about how that is best to be accomplished.
If we want to share slogans, I have a better one:
Those who can do, those who understand teach.
The system is full of incompetence, like any bureaucratically run entity, but there are gifted teachers on the right and left of the political spectrum.
