It was the oddest day because I had lived in NY for two years five years prior to 9/11 when I decided that I'd had enough and wanted to be back in CA. I remember waking up on the west coast to news coverage and my roommate crying and screaming and making me run to the tv...I think that is the first time and last time that I have woke up and went straight to crying.
Unfortunately, September 11 is a day we will never forget - where we were, what thoughts went through our head. I am happy to see that many of the brave people whose lives were lost are being commemorated.
