Elder of Ziyon - Comments here do not necessarily reflect the opinions of EoZ

One thing is for sure elder. You DO streach the truth and make stuff up. Your blog is not a fair and ballance source of truth seeking...but slanted in on direction only. I have seen so many times your bogus propaganda and vicious relentless attacks using lies and flat out slander to discredit anyone who speaks out against a pro israeli view.

No doubt you are proud to be recognised as such:

"false allegations and misinformation, including "extremely personal attacks"

Is a shoe that fits and anyone with half a brain that just takes the time to read this board regulary can see that the above is an accurate description of the collective tactics employed by the pro israel members of this board.

Think about it...when have you ever seen a blog here critical of israel unless it is for a perceived failure to foster zionism by some "self hating jew".

And you accuse HRW of whining.

Waaaaaahhh...not everyone supports us treating people like dogs and stealing thier land! They should do what we say, pack up and leave so we can move into thier houses...we are treated so horribly!

A long list of unsubstantiated ad hominems does not an argument make. Thanks for proving the point of this post.

"A long list of unsubstantiated ad hominems does not an argument make."

This seems to work just fine when employed by many of the members of this board.

People can read it for themselves. How about an example fer ya? Here is a blog in repsonse to a post elder made demonizing islam by exploiting the unfair practices of saudi arabia as an indication of the morality of an entire religion. The bloggers here used lies and any desperate thing they could to discredit me when I pointed out an obvious shortfall in thier thinking. These tactics are similar to what was described above by HRW. Only one blogger here was decent enough to recognize the truth and respectably say so.

http://www.haloscan.com/ comments...753817791677029

As you can clearly see biggotry and hate was the motivation for some of the bloggers here to attack and demonize islam by judging the entire religion collectively by the disgracefull actions of a few. It really is pitifull.

Not trying to digress...you obviously thought there was no proof. Well there it is. I could come up with more but was trying to stick to the point and not digress.

What have I made up? A single example among my nearly 7000 posts will do.

Gravatar If an NGO makes a claim, warranted or not, they should expect some criticism for it. They are advocates for a position and to say that a different point of view might not have any validity is the height of arrogance.

The various soviets took the name "democratic people's republic". We all knew that wasn't true but there were always those who believed. Just using the words "Human Rights" in one's name should not make one immune from legitimate criticism - an argument they themselves offer up.

Gravatar "I really hesitate to use words like conspiracy, but" they have such a lovely resonance, it would be a shame not to imply a familiar historical accusation.

Gravatar This is not about Islam - it's about objectivity and accuracy. Read a serious scientific paper to see what true objectivity means - the writers usually go out of their skins to highlight the weaknesses and shortcomings of their thesis, and that self-criticism is what lies behind the astonishing success of science.

The HR methodology is the exact opposite to that. In fact, its tactics remind me more of pseudo-science (like creationism). It has a clear agenda (i.e. the bible is true, here is the truth - now let's see what evidence we can find to support it), misuses intl. law (evolution is just a theory), tries to discredit Israel (where are all those missing links etc.), projects its own mindset onto other cultures (the eye is too complex to have evolved by itself) and so on. Anyway you look at it, it fails miserably under scrutiny.

Gravatar Look Elder, Iian Levine the program director for HRW refered to you as part of the israeli government!
From the Gaurdian article:
At the time, Levine called the attacks on Garlasco the latest salvo in the Israeli government's campaign "to eliminate the space for legitimate criticism" of the Israeli military

Gravatar sshender: "Read a serious scientific paper to see what true objectivity means - the writers usually go out of their skins to highlight the weaknesses and shortcomings of their thesis, and that self-criticism is what lies behind the astonishing success of science."

Well said.

Gravatar After reading it again I was amazed that Levine would call it a 'conpiracy'! To take a page from the Protocols is really a new low even for them.
It does show something positive that they have to spend time explaining themselves but really to claim a jewish conspiracy makes them look like a laughing stock.
Pathetic.

Gravatar The Elder's efforts DO prove the Zionists run the world!

Now I'm waiting for HRW to issue a report revealing the existence of this "conspiracy."

Heh

Gravatar Please. Was anyone out there unaware that we ALL take our marching orders from Elder?

Hey, I'm getting a raise in this lousy U.S. economy, and my job is secure. How do you suppose that happened? Of course it's the international Zionist conspiracy.

And may I say: Thanks for the raise, Elder!

Gravatar Drat! We are further revealed. Harry's Place has a posting about an upcoming Channel 4 (UK) program about an insidious ... Zionist ... conspiracy, comprised of hidden ... Zionist ... powerbrokers, etc etc:

http://www.hurryupharry.org/2009...o-israel-lobby/

I've just realized that by informing Elder and all here of this program, I too have become part of this vast occult cabal of ... Zionists.

Feel the power.

Dmanglk | 11.15.09 - 9:23 am | #"

Excellent description of the Phakestinian "cause" that you wholeheartedly support in all its particulars, dmangletruth, the only thing you left out is the total distortion of Truth & Reality that is 'Palestinian history'.....

Sounds like someone named "dmanglk" is whining about not being able to prove that Israel is a Nazi State, and commits genocide against a faux people known as 'Palestinians'. Poor dmanglekook....especially when you consider that this faux cause he supports is everything he falsely claims Israel is.

Hey, look behind you, "dmanglk", there's a map of Greater Canaan!

And the crapstorm on "dmanglk"'s WWII ancestors continues, unabated.....

Gravatar Meryl, you are most welcome. It's easy to find raises when we made the decision to increase spending by a couple of trillion.

Gravatar Elder:

I think in one sense you are too kind in response to this allegation of conspiracy. In fact, the real evil of such an attack is that it replicates that which has been said about the Jewish People for centuries, e.g., don't forget that your screen name is a derivative of one the more heinous products about which I comment. Here we go again--the Jewish People are accused of conspiracy. Shame on HRW, and how humiliating to have to share the same surname as the HRW representative you quote, Iain Levine. Makes me sick.

Gravatar HRW and other NGOs make attacks on Israel without sufficient evidence, which forces Israel to have to defend itself.

Now that the shoe is on the other foot, I'm not very receptive to their whining.

Gravatar This follows the same trope that HRW was using to raise funds in Saudi Arabia a few months ago.

Poor HRW is defending itself from a Zionist conspiracy, boo hoo! Arab dictators, line up to donate!

Gravatar I think HRW has provided evidence for its reporting, and there is no reason Arabs alone should be banned from making donations.

Gravatar Dmglink, as is usually the case, you have missed the point entirely.

You lament that this blog is not an objective source of info, and it (like ALL other blogs) never claims to be one. Every blog has its agenda, for better or worse, and should be judged by its performance on its topic of choice. If you wan't to hear both sides of the story look elsewhere (and no, not the MSM, because it's hardly objective either). Elder's blog should be judged not by its even-handedness but by its sources, reasoning and discourse. You accuse Elder of bogus propaganda and vicious relentless attacks using lies and flat out slander and yet I have not seen anything that even slightly resembles bigotry in his posts, not to mention your allegation (the comments are something different altogether). On the contrary, his blog is probably one of the most moderate political blogs out there. (I can recall just one incident which turned out to be false, and Elder retracted it and admitted his mistake - not exactly the traits of a typical serial liar).

Gravatar Gemütlich Dmanglk said: Think about it...when have you ever seen a blog here critical of israel ...

There is no need for a blog like this to criticise Israel. Criticism is carried out by the UN, EU, State Dept., and majority of the world's news outfits. Then there's actual demonization of Israel by countless talk shows, people of profile, news outfits especially Islamic/ Arab ones, Muslim leaders etc etc.

What's done here is a defence against DISPROPORTIONATE attack. Perhaps Dmanglk can point us to where it has been supportive of Israel, in order to prove it is not just a hating entity.

Gravatar This latest accusation illustrates HRW's and more generally NGOs' problematic language use. Why and how would some association of blogs/bloggers constitute a conspiracy?

Since when does exposing biases of non-institutional and presumably independent institutions vis-a-vis a specific state considered a conspiracy? Is it unlawful or harmful (that's part of the definition of "conspiracy")?
And since the rebuking is done publicly - it doesn't match the secretive feature that is the other characteristic of the term "conspiracy".

So here we are with yet another libelous accusation.

Gravatar yup, it seems Elder and Israeli government are doing all they can to discredit the NGOs over their reports of war crimes in Gaza. Luckily, most of people all around the world (except in israel) rather believe NGOs than some bloggers.

@ Dmanglk: "when have you ever seen a blog here critical of israel" - Never. There was no such a thing and that is the problem with Elder and his objectivity/credibility. Why should someone believe him (considering that he's always pro-israel and will never criticize her) and not those NGOs or mr Goldstone?

Gravatar I started writing a response, and decided that a blog post would make more sense.
