Hey man,

Glad to hear the good new 'bout grandma's rocker and that you're on the mend.

BTW, "Captain Redneck" is my homage to one of the all time great professional rasslers from the golden age of Memphis' Mid South back in the 70's. Dick Murdoch was this combination stone cold crazed 'Nam vet with a little plowboy thrown in for good measure. He wielded his equalizer of choice, a foldable govmint issue shovel snatched from his Army green towsack just in time to bludgeon an opponent who had 'em on the ropes, the way you wield profanity and wit on the likes of this Dagney Taggart character. Ask him how he feels about the 13th amendment, a lot of Fed Society typed claim the 14th and 15th are illegitmate (not sure the basis, guess the Yankee bayonet thing), but nobody ever calls em out on bringing back the peculiar institution. My gut tells me every Randite I ever met would be down wid it, some shit bout market transactions amongst consenting adults. I mean their entire wo

But digamma also knows I hold a Hugo Black-esque attitude to the First Amendment.

Im in Japan (where I cant find the apostrophe on the keyboard) right now. I dont have time to respond except to say that Japan is not a good place to be seen reading nice things about Hugo Black.

Gravatar Retardo, you are fuckin' awesome! I was wondering where all those hits were coming from. Thank you so much for the link!

Gravatar Yer welcome, cats.

digamma, wtf were you doing reading blogs whilst in Asia?

Aside that, come on. Hugo Black is a cuss word in Japan? Okay, but so too must be every other politician, left and right, from that era.

And come on, spare me the outrage. What about the dissenters on the later warren court, the conservatives, who wished to preserve your precious economic "liberty" but also signed right on to the internment camp proposal? I admit that it's a huge blot on Douglas, Warren (then Gov of CA) and Black, but isnt it also on Jackson and Harlan et al?

Gravatar Captain Redneck,

Hey dude. I remember dirty Dick Murdoch. Jebus, it's scary I've met a fan of classic memphis wrestling on my blog. I loved Lawler like all kids here, and though I got the joke to it all, it didnt stop me from watching rabidly. I lived through the Kauffman period. I've actually listened to Jimmy Hart's 45 of "Lance Russell's Nose". Good times.
