Interesting -- my parents are both from near Harrisburg, PA (dad's side only a couple generations removed from the Amish of Lancaster Co.), and my mom, especially, used the word "yinz" growing up as a form of "y'all". The blogger IOZ, from Pittsburgh, often types it out as "younz". I didn't know a variation of it was used farther south as well.

Gravatar Actually the slang "youins" is more common on the new england area and northern areas than in the south.
