Exercise Before Knitting
The necessity for many needles (and hours of frustration) aside, that is one adorable hat.

How do you find Knitpick's Shine Sport yarn? Is it good to knit with? I'm thinking of getting some.

It's quite adorable, but all that finishing sounds like a huge pain in the butt!
that is absolutely adorable, but it seems like a lot of effort (and a lot of needles!) for one little hat....
It is really, really cute, and as a knitter I can see all the work that goes into it, but that seems like a lot of fiddling, finishing and needles for one little hat! 
Despite the fiddly-ness, it is such a cute design. As you said, if it's for someone "extra-special" it's worth it.

I did the same thing as you, by using another circ as a stitch holder. It's a fun fiddly project, definitely a "process" project, not a quick "product" one!

The baby hat is adorable!!! I have to put that in my list of things to knit. I don't have any children yet, but I love knitting for my friends and family with cute little ones!!!
Fiddly, but oh-so-adorable! I would definitely go all out for a special baby.
