You know what else drives me crazy about DB patterns? The lack of schematics and in her earlier designs, the lack of charts. Like it would kill her (or her editor) to whip up a quick graphic of how big everything is supposed to be instead of just listing chest measurement and sleeve length. This hasn't stopped me from buying a good number of her baby pattern books, mind you

The sweater looks great. How was your gauge with the Cotton-Ease compared to the pattern and the yarn it called for. (I have that book, and yarn by Cotton-Ease that I don't know what to do with!)

The sweater? Precious!
The baby? Adorable!
Makes for a nice combo. =) I love picture that is second down from the top. That little smirk means you are in SO much trouble when she gets older! =)

So pretty! Both Beatrix and her jacket, of course! I once made a DB jacket for my niece that had 13 pieces to seam together, it was insane!
I was inspired to read about your morning runs! I used to love running in the morning, it would wake me up for the day and I didn't even need coffee! No more, though, now I am lazy. Great job!

What a lovely shade that new Cotton Ease is. Nicer than the clown colors that we all know and love. That's such a simple yet timeless cardi that looks awfully sweet on B.
My peanut is proving to still be long and lean, too, and I'm curious to see how they'll grow.

Hooray for the return of Cotton-Ease. I made a Sitcom Chic cardi out of it for myself and it still looks great. I need to get me some for my kids for simple sweaters this fall.
Baby B is so darling, esp. in that color!

Cute sweater. I concur on the boxy, bulky shoulders that most DB patterns return. That doesn't just apply to baby knits BTW. I learnt that the hard way.
Any recommendations on better fitting baby knits?

Baby cardigan may be ho-hum blog material, but cute babies aren't! Where do you go to learn this all-in-one raglan technique I keep hearing about?

What a sweetie pie - she has a very devilish/scheming look on her face in the second picture. It was probably the moment she thought of chewing on the sweater.

I saw this when you posted it and meant to ask then but forgot until just now...how many skeins of the cotton-ease did this take you? My baby is 6 months old but already in 9-12 month stuff, so I want to size up for next winter's cardigans. I have some stash yarn in mind that I want to use but don't want to start something and run out of yarn halfway through, so just looking to get an idea of how much worsted weight yarn you'd use in a sweater about this size! it's adorable and Beatrix is breathtakingly gorgeous!
