Exercise Before Knitting

Gravatar Wow, those Red socks are gorgeous! I love those misread socks too (the heel especially). Congrats on your new yarn, and I'm amazed that you lasted a 14 month yarn diet! (no way I could!)

Gravatar Is that the best pattern!!!! The title of your post today made me laugh - so true, so true!!!!!

Nice new yarns - the color of the Koigu is nice. Different.

I think I could go a year on a yarn diet, but the MD festival kills me!

So you used to live kind of near me! I live in Central MA!

Gravatar HA! I will totally vote for Nancy for president--and I'm sure she'd do a better job! (My _dog_ would do a better job.)

The socks look gorgeous, and I happen to like your mis-read sock pattern quite a bit. That's a cool heel on that one.

Gravatar What awesome heel detail on the Gentlemen's Socks. And you can leave the politics in I'm a Nancy Bush fan.

Gravatar I really like the Elinor can't read socks! They are lovely. I am finding it tricky to find sock patterns for men.

Gravatar The Elinor Can't Read socks turned out great!

Gravatar Lovely socks and lovely yarns!

Gravatar I've probably gushed before about how much I enjoyed the CFS pattern but here it is again: I love it. The perfect balance of ease and interest! And your Gentleman's Socks are great. I don't know if my husband will ever get a pair of fine-gauge socks...it's his own size-13 fault. That's just entirely too much foot.

Gravatar Best title of the day - by far!!
and your NB socks are beautiful - Shell Pattern was one of my favorite sock knits....you just want to keep doing one more repeat and before you know it....done!
I really like your version of the Railway Stitch!!

Gravatar The heel on the Gentleman's Sock is beautiful. I really like that color combination.

Gravatar My knitting is slowed down a great deal by the amount of time I spend in admiration of my work! Sometimes it dawns on me that I'm creating such amazing things out of a piece of string, at which point I have pause and admire even longer!

I love that little strawberry set you linked to! Sooo cute!

Gravatar Yes! Nancy Bush is the best! Love that red! So vibrant!

Gravatar Those are some awfully beautiful socks you have there! I just got my copy of Vintage Socks and I can't wait to cast on.

Have been meaning to get up to Plum Island one of these days- maybe during the spring?

Gravatar Amen to your title! Love the pics - they are all beautiful knits!

P.S. Whenever you leave a comment on my site, I can't seem to e-mail you back so please know that I do appreciate them!

Gravatar You've totally inspired me to go out and buy more solid sock yarn. I always mean to, but I go to the yarn store and get distracted by all the fun color combinations and before I know it, I'm at home with more variegated yarn.

Gravatar Both sets of socks are fabu! The husband sock heels look great with the contrasting color. Who cares if the pattern is misread as long as the guy wears them??

Gravatar misread pattern or not the gentlemen sock is too cool looking... =)

Gravatar I think a yarn diet is exactly what I need! Funny thing though, every time I'd like to make a project for my daughter, there is never the right yarn in my stash. Just tonight I've ordered yarn for the Katharine Hepburn Cardigan in Lace Style. Sigh! The temptations are just horrible, no will power here! ;o)

Gravatar LOVE IT! nancy for president woo hoo baby! OH you and your glorious socks. You always insprire me. How you do that WITH A BABY in addition to your whole home-made baby wipes and washing of diapers blows my mind. I may have to get just a few more sock yarns now....

14 months? seriously? I had to re-read that part because I thought surely it said 14 days or 14 weeks. 14 MONTHS? wow.

Still jogging, but got lazy. Brew 2 Brew is coming up fast. I've been voted off the whole "just stop by the yarn shop" since I'm riding with my brother's coworkers and they thought he was INSANE when he tried that on the rest of the crew. *sigh* I'll have to wait for April 15th's run.

Gravatar Well done! Good luck with the yarn diet, I think I might be on one too!

Gravatar Wow, great pictures of the child's first socks!

I love the gentleman-ish socks, too, but isn't Swish worsted weight? How did it knit up for socks? Ooh, I bet it was fast, and they don't look chunky at all. [runs off in search of earlier posts]

Gravatar Beautiful socks. And what gorgeous yarn.

Gravatar Love Nancy! Love that pattern too! Can't wait to see them finished.....nice purchases!

Gravatar I can't decide if I like your title or socks better. Well done, both!

Gravatar Love the socks and love Nancy Bush as well as the rest of the Bushes. When I need sock pattern inspiration her books are the first ones I reach for. I always try to think up clever names for the socks I knit and I like your name for the railway stitch socks. I like your heel treatment.

The Child's First Sock is on my list to knit someday. Yours looks fantastic.

Gravatar Can I please come on your yarn diet with you? I could do with some will power... maybe if I stand close enough to you, it'll rub off a bit. x

Gravatar Hey, those socks look familiar! The pattern is very addictive. I like the Gentleman's socks. I'm always misreading patterns too.

Gravatar Yeah, kids dressed as berries are pretty sweet. Love the socks - I don't have the patience for small fussy sock knitting....

Gravatar I am not sure if this is a dumb question - but the Nancy Bush who put out those knitting books - she's the president's wife?? I'm Canadian so I didn't know that!

Gravatar Yeah, Nancy for prez! Ha ha! I knit that same pattern (child's first sock) in a similar color, but more of a raspberry. You have excellent taste I loved it too, such a cute little design.

Gravatar Ha! Knitters in the White House! So who can we get for VP?
I love your manly socks. I need to get that book, if for nothing else, to get that pattern. My manly man might actually wear that one.

Gravatar Love the title of this post, and wish if only Nancy Bush were running the country. Just think of the different place we'd be right now!! And we'd all have great socks too!

All jokes aside, these socks and the sock yarn all look so yummy. Good work.
