SO CUTE! B looks adorable.
What's funny is that my advice would be "Don't use pins! They're a waste of time and prick your fingers!"
But then, to the best of my knowledge I've never sewn anything with a curved line.

Nice job! I learned to sew back in middle school home ec class. I pinned a lot b/c crinkley seams made me nutso.
What I learned about myself trying to sew is that a) I'm just enough OCD to have it drive me crazy b) there can never be enough pins to make it perfect so I don't drive myself crazy c) I can't cut a straight line to save my life, d) sewing will make me crazy. hehe
But I love the final product! I can't win!

I am really looking forward to your post about why knitting is better than sewing, because I am really feeling the urge to learn to sew, and I really do not need another hobby!!
The dress is darling. I love the red. But why the tear?

Give yourself a big pat on the back for me; I thought you did an awesome job! Sewing is like any other skill: the more you practice, the better you get. Miss B. looks gorgeous in her new frock, to boot.

It looks great! You did a terrific job and I totally agree with your tips - especially pressing seams. That's a critical step that really helped me improve my sewing.
B is adorable, as always! I just told my daughter "Oh, the blogger with the cute baby posted!" and she came running over to see, too.

I haven't tried to sew clothes yet, only quilts and blankets. This dress and the bloomers/dc are so cute, I love them! I think I would be more apt to try sewing clothes if I had a girl, little dresses on little baby girls...so cute!

Nice job! I've stuck to A-line skirts so far -- no tricky corners -- so I'm very impressed. I've also got my fingers in my ears re: pressing seams. I KNOW it's important... it just breaks up the flow so much. Maybe I need to find a way to rig up the iron right next to the sewing machine.

Excellent job! Sewing is actually more comfortable to me then knitting (I'm still an amateaur at knitting) and I would say it looks great. And, your tips are right on. I've had to learn from bad experiences too!

Oh, this is adorable, too!
I'll second the ironing advice. I recently learned to iron when I sew, and it's truly a magical device.

Loving the little red dress. You did such a great job, and who is going to look at the one little corner, unless you point it out. It still looks fantastic.
