Fun stuff! Congrats on finishing the exams... enjoy your free time!
I am becoming a true lover of Lorna's Laces and that periwinkle (?)color is right up my alley! I'm using a denim color right now. I also like the moss color you're using for your new project...
And great job on those finished socks---they look great in that red.

Ooh, congrats on all the good loot.
The child's first socks look fantastic! I've seen so many pretty versions of that pattern lately that I'm itching to knit it.

I started Conwy once and quit after an inch or 2 - I had used Paton's Kroy and those twisted stitches were hell with the thickish yarn - I haven't made Canal Du Midi yet, but they are definitely one of my favorites from KOTR!
AND your Shell Pattern socks are GORGEOUS in RED!!!

See, I think CFS kind of re-sets the bar easy-but-interesting socks. I hope your trip to frogland doesn't last as long as my current streak...

Your CFS came out great. Coincidently, I just cast on Conwy socks for my next sock project as well. Now I'm worried I made the wrong choice. We'll see!

What's funny is that I'm generally quite antivariegated. But Claudia Handpainted comes out fun (I've not ever had a pooling problem), and in socks, who will know? I say go for simple and straightforward socks and you're guaranteed to be happy.
Don't say you're a boring knitter! Your stuff is awesome.

Did you lengthen the heel flap on your Child's First Sock? I think mine is turning out way too small.
It's funnt that you thought Conwy was too boring to knit. That was the very first patterned sock pattern I ever knit, and I thought it was REALLY hard at the time.

This was truly a post after my own heart - the Knitting retreat is close to Conwy and the Canal du Midi is close to where my mother grew up. We had numerous picnics along the Canal as children, generally with my parents having forgotten the corkscrew for the bottle of wine. (I'll stop walking down memory lane now). What's the green yarn you are using for Canal du Midi? I love the colour.

I just caught up on your posts. I hope your exams went well and you are on a knitting spree, even if on a yarn diet!
The yarn from Minty is so pretty -- can't wait to see what you make from it!

Beautiful red socks!
I think you made a wise decision regarding the Conwy socks... life is short so why spend time on knitting something that bores you.

I love your Child's First Socks. I have that book and I may have to consider making those. My problem is I have all variegated sock yarns and no solids. Time to go shopping I guess.

"Congratulations, and I am so jealous", said the knitter taking a second away from writing a paper to leave this comment.
Love the socks! Those and the Canal du Mundi are on my list of future knits.
Enjoy your presents, you deserve them!
