No idea why this popped into my head when I read your 'bear shitting in the woods' line... but I'm nothing if not a giver:
A bear and a rabbit found themselves taking a crap side by side in the woods (I mean, where else would they be doing it?). After a few moments the bear turned to the rabbit and asked asked, "Hey, I got a question for ya... do you ever have a problem with shit sticking to your fur?"
The bunny thought about the question for a second and replied, "Nope, I can't say I've ever had a problem like that."
At which point the bear picked up the rabbit and wiped his @ss with it.

Very funny ... and squeezably soft!
Mountain lions ... that's what creeps me out. Did you read about that guy in New Mexico that got hauled off by one?

Actually, we got a genuine black bear problem in Joisey, fortunately about thirty miles west of where I am. Having said that, I couple weeks ago a bear was captured about two miles from the House by the Parkway.
Better bears than gators.

Just remember -- we've had COUGARS in my neck of the woods recently, and none of them have had tracking collars on. At least y'all have an early warning system of sorts!

A cougar invasion? What's next, the Attack of the MILF's?

I've been around cougars and bears, and I'd much rather have the cougars around. We have them wander into town here quite often; usually they just get chased around by dogs and kids until they hole up somewhere until they can be rescued by the animal control people. Bears are unpredictable, and if they are coming around people they have lost their fear. Even a black bear is a scary animal. I've seen them massacre a dozen sheep without eating them; just doing it for the excitement of the kill.
