See, now I eat the good stuff first. Usually I start with my veggies cuz I love me my veggies.
My reasoning is thus:
I get full and don't want the stuff that I don't like by the time I've finished the stuff I do like. No one can ever bitch that I didn't eat what I don't like because I don't like it...I can always say I'm just too full to eat it.
I'm always thinking ya know.

and altho i'm planning to expand this meme (did i really just use that word?)- i can't decipher how to use those damned trackbacks for the life of me. anyhow, i thought i must tell you, being here in gatorland, that we do not give in to the evil of the prepackaged graham cracker crust, we use our (rather expensive honestly) goldarn fridgeration techniques more instinctively than you 'northerners' perhaps. 'tis a fine balance to strike. what is the finest fruit or your origin m'dear? perhaps we can strike a deal for those damnable limes, 5 for a buck all year round here.

Goliard - Homemade g.c.c. crusts only, yes! If the edges don't look as though a child made them, watch out...

Pie, pie, I like pie! Favorite tune from the movie, Michael.
But, Stevo, you left out a most wonderful pie: a Jefferson Davis pie (or sometimes called a vinegar pie). My recipe is from a little old WWII vet, Mr. Creed, who gave it to me in a Christmas card 20 years ago. Sadly, Mr. Creed (who was in the battle of Monte Casino in Italy) has passed on. Hey, I think you have just inspired my next blog, Steve!

Strawn's Eat Shop in Shreveport, Louisiana....one of the few great things in the town, has the most incredible peach pie with real whipped cream you've ever had! If you ever find yourself driving I20 and happen through there, you should stop and enjoy....(the chocolate, banana, coconut and strawberry aren't bad either!)

Just to let you know about where I live, I once had a 36" baby gator leashed to the leg of my desk until the wildlife people came to collect it. 'Course, its jaws were taped shut and it also wet on the carpet.
We had a Key Lime tree in our back yard for 30 years. It would bear fruit most of the year, and 'most any time, the kids could pick a bunch of K'limes for a pie or for Key Limeade. Then the all-knowing state came along and cut it down because it was within so many feet of a tree with citrus canker.
I'm still angry about it but I did save some seeds for the future ....
