Your lovely calico will always be Matata to me, and if I ever get to meet her in person, I'll treat her to the wide range of endearments I use just for kittycats (and, of course, to my full complement of skritches).
My late, great cat Samantha adored shoes... particularly the recently worn shoes of my late (as in ex, not dead), not-so-great boyfriend. She loved to stick her little head into his still warm-shoes, and purrrrrrrrrr. Odd, eh?
She cares not for the shoes. 'tis the bags and boxes and nice hidey spots that are worth it all.
My Boo loves my oversized closet, and all the odd nooks and crannies. Occassionally she will take special interest in my shoes, but mainly what she likes to do is jump up on the first level in the closet and lay on top of the hangers! How is that comfortable?
What a pretty girl. She does look quite regal. 
She looks like she's saying: "There is nothing like the smell of brand new leather in the morning."
