Oh, Elisson... what awful news. I'm so sorry.
Here's hoping that sweet will yet come forth from bitter, and that Matata will put up a good, long fight with the help of treatment.

I will try to say tefelline-os (did I really just say that?) for her complete, 120 percent recovery.
The tumult in our tummies when this happens...it's just impossible to bear. My heart truly pains for you & SWMBO.

((Big hugs)) My cat had the same thing. It was very touch and go for a while, but we were able to get her stabilized, and she lived another six years after the diagnosis. She lived to be 22. You will probably have to give your cat IV fluids every other day from now on. I know that sounds daunting, but it's really not that hard once you get used to doing it. And it truly is worth it. Also, if she makes it through this, make sure to have her blood pressure checked. Kidney disease ultimately causes high blood pressure. I believe my cat would have lived even longer if I had started her on the blood pressure meds sooner, as she died of a stroke and not from the kidney disease.
Best of luck to you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

It's really tough when a furry friend gets ill. They can't help much with their diagnosis and you can't magically zap the pain out of their bodies. Just like a baby.
Hope she pulls through and is feeling better soon. Nothing like the smell of fish breath in the morning to get you up.

Tossing my thoughts and prayers in the ring here with all the others. It's always stressful when our beloved furry friends are sick or injured. I hope she manages to dodge this one.

NO---NOT MATADA!! I'm so sorry Ellison. Your kitties are so lucky to have you and SWMBO as parents. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and hope we hear good news soon. Now off to make the bed and get my handy sticky roller which gets far more use on our bed than our clothes. I'm not complaining. Hope to see you soon.

So sorry, Elisson. I hope Matata responds well to treatment; I know of several cats who've lived for years with renal problems. May she be back on your chest interrupting your reading soon. (Our Sergei does that with Paul each night, too.) Matata, and you and SWMBO, will be in my thoughts.

To Matata, and to you and your family in particular, both from me and from Sam (the most spoiled rotten Maine Coon on Planet Earth) all our prayers and love come your way. Your girl is exceptionally beautiful and clearly thoroughly loved.
I have nursed one cat through diabetes (my dear Rocky lived to be 15 in spite of it all) and through renal problems and ultimately failure (BooBoo the wonder cat lived to age 1 and throughout, my principle aim was to make sure they were comfortable and had some decent quality of life. I fully appreciate the enormous worry and pain that you and your entire family are experiencing right now. G-d willing, Matata will come through this with flying colors and return home to continue to enhance your lives.
