Great story, Elisson. heh.
Those rigs - we used to use them to drill for water on our farms here in West Aussie. I remember those things well. This was back in the 1950's, and yeah that's showing my age..

yep, you had the job known in the patch as the tool dresser..back in my day those tools (the bits) were put in a fire and when they got hot they were "dressed" with a 16 pound sledge hammer..
I stayed away from the antiques..I worked a while on the rotary rigs..preferred the derrick over the floow..nothing gonna fall on you if you be in the derrick..
