There's nothing quite like dieting in the Spring, except for perhaps not dieting in the spring. It seems I come out of every winter with excess poundage which I work off in spring, gain back during the summer bbq and beer drinkin' season and then go completely to hell during the fall and winter with the holidays. Gotta drop 20 by Memorial Day so I'm looking good for the annual physical...God help me if my doc sees me now.

I think the collander makes you look very svelte and chic. The shirt helps too. *grin* Congrats on the dietary success. It's always wonderful to get such terrific results.

Yup. Small portions of all that's delicious and nutritious. My own epiphany, written out in long hand -- or should I say long blogpost -- in the Cold Turkey Cookbook? -- came about a year ago, when I wrote:
We jumped on the wagon cold turkey one week ago today, cutting out the booze,* the second helpings and the midnight snacks. We feel better already. The first day was the hardest. Since then it's been a piece of cake. But no cake for us until further notice.
To date I've lost 40 pounds. The fun part is when someone you haven't seen in awhile looks at you kinda funny and asks "Have you lost weight?"
*We didn't cut out ALL the booze. Now drinking only on weekends and at parties. Bring on the parties!

Hell man..I have cultivated that "excessively grizzled appearance"...scares off the hoodlums who figure I am as mean as they are and everyone figures that a gotdam redneck with a unkempt beard carries...especially if they drive a pickup. So far so good..ain't had to shoot anybody..at least in the USA..yet

Does this mean you aren't interested in a box of Chocolate Covered Matzah from charleschocolates.com for Passover?
"matzah enrobed in our special 65% bittersweet chocolate."
Seriously delish!

There once was a man on a diet
Who thought everyone else ought to try it
"It's easy," he said,
"Just cut out the bread!"
Which damn near caused bakers to riot.
Congrats on your success! Woot!

Do you remember my 'Quit Eating You Fat Bastard!' diet, Elisson? I went from 270 to 205 in a fairly short amount of time. Shrunk my stomach.
Last night, I ate a Yukon Gold baked potato, and half a very nice T-Bone steak. And I was friggen done. Not another bite could I have handled.
I've been holding at 212 for months, now. If I want a Root Beer float, that's dinner. I'll eat a stick of butter if I want, but I'll arrange the rest of that days meals around it.
I'm not a fanatic, but I will never allow that to happen to me again. I looked big and strong at 270, but I felt like shit.
Never again.

That is fantastic! As one who has lost that kind of weight, I know how hard it is. I meet people who have lost 50-100 lbs and I wonder how they did it as losing 20-25 for me just takes some real dedication and motivation. I'm a lifetime member of WW. LOVE that program!
