I'm going out on a limb here and noting that I've seen people tear open the packages of undies to do... what?
Lord knows.
And personally, as a person who would not buy a previously opened package of undies, perhaps the company got wise to this and made it possible for the store to close an opened bag?
Yikes.
I think I shall now look for brands who don't come with a ziplock.

That's so you can try them on at the store to make sure they fit properly, silly.

Easy answer, were you to consider it...
Say you have a litte accident. Go buy yourself a new pair (or pkg of 3 just in case) take the soiled ones, put them in the package, seal them up, dispose of them in the nearest trash recepticle.

"I picked up a few pairs of undershorts yesterday."
To which I immediately replied, "Whose were they?"
Hanes 100% Cotton Briefs are also my choice, for all the reasons you mention, plus the fact that I can't wear boxers without them taking an unwelcomed and uncomfortable trip north. Haven't yet seen the resealable pouches. Odd... Do they have an expiration date stamped on them?

There are vendors on eBay that sell factory 2nd skivvies by the dozen at a remarkably low price. Seeing as how I never plan on my undies seeing the light of day out in public, I could care less if a seam is slightly skewed, or a dye job is a bit faded.
Boxer briefs were invented by masochists, IMHO.

I look for a skidmark resistance rating of at least 10.763 on the Dukakis Scale.

I've discovered that boxer briefs have the same effect on me as wrapping my nether regions in Saran Wrap. BVD boxer briefs are especially non-breathing. It must be below zero outside before those are an option.
I know what you mean about boxers feeling like two pairs of pants. More than once, I've had my fly open for hours, and never noticed. Don't like boxers in the summer...the whole sweaty nuts on the leg thing. Causes lots of pocket pool.
Hanes briefs are a good option.

I have to step in here and take up for boxer briefs. I actually prefer them over boxers or briefs. Boxers are usually too baggy and it feels like I have loose laundry stuffed in my pants. (I do sleep in boxers sometimes though) Briefs are, well to me anyway, too brief. I don't like the way they ride up between my thigh and my balls. Ugh. I stick with Haynes because of the fact they have no tags and use soft cotton.
I avoid the skidmark issue by buying colors... Black, dark blue, &tc... And by wiping my ass thoroughly.

Boxer briefs too large, conventional briefs too small. One set crushes my overlarge balzac, the other set allows them to leak out into non balzac approved areas of the universe. Apparently if you have a waist above a certain size, they expect your legs to be the size of tree trunks.
Full boxers? Not at gunpoint.

"Apparently if you have a waist above a certain size, they expect your legs to be the size of tree trunks."
I guess that's good for me then, since my waist is getting smaller and my legs are, if not getting bigger, at least staying the same size.

Somehow, I knew the term "balzac" would find its way into the comments on this post...

As a moonlighting apparel associate at Wally World, I have to thank the God's for the ziplock.
For some reason everyone has to rip open the socks and the underwear. Are they soft enough? The right size? At least with the Ziplock we have some semblance of repackaging. It doesn't always work, but it does help.
